Instead of creating some BS whitepaper and trying to get donations, I'm just going to throw this out there and hope someone runs with it. I saw a quote the other day that went something like "if someone could find a way to profit from all these sh#@ coins they would make a fortune.
Is it possible to do some kind of Grim Reaper coin that's basically pre-mined and operates via some proof of burn mechanism where we can pump that currency while killing others? So GRC has some pre-determined value and all proof of burns for other crypto-currencies get market value at time of burn in exchange for those coins.
For the love of Satoshi we have to find a way to kill some of these alt coins. It's an ecosystem and we needs some god damn wolves! All these diseased and dying altcoins are sad to look at.
(I'm a developer and would gladly join a team committed to this effort.)

This already exists. As the idiots lose their money, the shit coins die. Stablecoin died, Earthcoin died, Memorycoin died . . the list is neverending. There aren't enough idiots in the world to support the diseased currencies. Persevere and you will see that it will come to an end some day.
There will be a day when people laugh when someone makes a new coin copy, and then carry on instead of buying it. There will be a day when comes out with a coin that uses parts of another coin, and does the same thing.
We just have to wait for it.
You're asking for the someone to code the invisible hand, and it won't be possible because it's already here.

Well I understand your point, I believe that the guy with the original quote had an interesting idea. It could serve as a refuge for people on sinking ships. As a last ditch effort you could jump ship and quickly convert dying alt-coins to a more promising currency. It would be most effective for coins that are capped and mostly mined. The invisible hand isn't a bad comparison but I would think of it as something more closely related to bankruptcy, if your alt isn't sustainable we can take it over and capitalize on any remaining value it might have. All forums/sites etc.. redirect and the coin dies.

I don't think I have nearly the immersion in this necessary to contribute though, but can definitely support!

I don't think I have nearly the immersion in this necessary to contribute though, but can definitely support! I see the benefit of this being twofold. Not only will it expedite the end of terrible alt-coins but it could also grow into quite a force of its own. I'd imagine the collective communities/forums/websites/developers of all of the fallen alt's could combine into something pretty significant. It would be a snowball effect, with each doomed alt-coin GRC would grow. It's basically the same thing that happens when large organizations buy out small companies. The notable difference being that there are no monopoly laws governing crypto-currency. You could just wait for the huge community of worthless alts to fizzle out completely on their own. That's an option but its a zero sum game, if a 100 alts hang on with .5% marketshare that's 50% marketshare that could be capitalized on. Why not create an environment where a coin that is performing better than the others can swallow up and remove competing coins from the ecosystem.

I just took a quick look. How does that do any of the things mentioned in this thread? (not to sound as snarky as that does)
