Meta has a constant flow of ban appeals, and complaints about mod action in deleting posts and threads. Most of these seem to come from new(er) members who have joined because they have been told that they can find easy money here. They don't seem to bother to find out much about the forum, or about the earnings potential. They just seem to believe that all you need to do is to flood the boards with word streams for the money to start to flow. This is not the case, and if you read some of the threads on the Meta board (link below) you will see how many have lost the ability to earn here as a result of breaching the rules.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0

Before you start to post, read the rules in the sticky threads at the top of the various boards, and then have a look through the threads created by the members who didn't read the rules. Failure to do this can result in a personal ban, and this can prevent you ever earning any money from your activities here. The most significant breach is plagiarism, and this is the theft of other people's work. You can't copy articles and claim them as your own original work, and this includes translation into another language. So many people seem to think that it is sufficient to apologise if you get caught, but that doesn't work here. If you get cught, and you are almost certain to be discovered, then you will be banned for life, and there is no appeal.

If you aren't sure about a rule, it is better to ask, than to risk being banned. You are welcome to ask questions in this thread, and I have made it self-moderating to avoid spambie posting.

Most newbies tend to avoid reading pined messages or the forum rules. Rather they jump straight in make unhealthy post or replies some are found of making unnecessary quote in their reply and makes a thread looks like a quote pyramid. The quality of a post in not solely on the quality of words or letters rather it's based on the amount of useful messages it passes to it reader. I would advice newbies like me to focus now more on reading

Most newbies Spambies avoid reading anything at all, stickied or other replies in the post they are replying to. It's a habit that has to be curbed as it gets alot of people banned as they are ignorant of the forum rules.

A user that gets a temporary ban and goes back to the violation which got him/her banned can that result in a permaban even if the offense is not stated to warrant a permaban.

One part that should also be put across as regards plagiarism on this forum is that,it doesn't really matter when the offense was committed..

You come across appeals where the OP claims he only did that(plagiarised)when he was a noob(for those who have ranked higher)
The fact still remains that a plagiarised content was found in your post history
It doesn't really matter how far back,as long as you're caught, you will definitely be banned..

So noobs who plagiarise now, and probably do not get caught, and happen to rank up...
Probably someday in the future, you could login your account and get the ban message
See you in Meta then...

Precisely. Plagiarism is a dangerous "mistake", but I also have a little doubt. Despite the fact of the act itself, meaning that any plagiarism is quite terrible, for you are stealing other's work, can the forum get into trouble for the plagiarized content in here? With the new EU policies about plagiarism as well as other further regulations, I don't know if this site can be even suited by posting plagiarized articles.

Pliagarism is not a 'mistake' but a violation of the rules by users who are looking to get credits (and possibly merits) for works of others or those who wants to boost their post count without thinking up what to post.

I have not heard of this new regulations, would you mind linking it?
As far as I know, a forum is not directly responsible for the contents on its platform.

I suspect that if a forum encourages or permits plagiarism, then it will have some problems with the new laws. and have the possibility of being delisted by Google etc.  Bitcoin Talk is very active in stamping out plagiarism, so it is unlikely to have any problems. As long as it continues its current policy of course.

Mistake, nopes, Most of them are deliberate and it looks to me that create topic in Meta just to ask below in some different wordings in Meta.

"Hi friends, I copied pasted 100 of posts, now I get banned, I just need to know, which post you find it copied?
I will not use that website/source for copying now onwards in my newly created accounts. Do not worry, I will keep copy pasting from the sources that you have not discovered till now "

I do not know, every plagarist until given proof claim himself/herself innocent and they are caught in multiple posts.

I am alive

I wrote a post on the the EU regulations you are inquiring about at the end of June 2018 (see Could Europe’s new copyright directives affect Bitcointalk ?). Although the proposal was not approved on the first subsequent vote, a watered down version of the regulation-to-be was created and finally approved last September. The EU country leaders still need to adapt the derivate implications to their local country rules in detail. This may still take some months but things seem to be in motion now, and we’ll have to be on top of the final implementation details.

Also see Parliament adopts its position on digital copyright rules. Specifically, the article states:
Quote
<…>Parliament’s position toughens the Commission’s proposed plans to make online platforms and aggregators liable for copyright infringements. This would also apply to snippets, where only a small part of a news publisher’s text is displayed <…>.
Although the above seems not to apply to “small and micro platforms”, whatever the definition of this may be in the end. Hyperlinks to articles will not be pursued by copyright constraints (in the original non-approved draft they were), but memes seem to still be in the eye of the hurricane.

We’ll have to see how the details play out in the final law transcripts…

The stupid EU seems to be creating more and more barriers to international trade. The sooner the UK can get away from their insane protectionism, the sooner we can rebuild the destruction they have caused to the UK economy and businesses.

The real danger will come form the new regulations created by the "advisory" committee that the treasonous Unicorns in the government are going to be using to shape the new laws. As those include representatives of the big business elite and banking interests, you can bet that they will be designed to continue the leeching of national wealth and assets. This will be the real danger for Bitcoin Talk, as Bitcoin represents a method of wealth protection and transfer that is outside their control

In addition also to that if all users will going to be a plagiarist then the forum will be completely a mess. Replying a plagiarize post will not do good on taking part of the discussions especially if it is an active discussions. The plagiarist post will only be considered as spam posts and this is really a problem. Seeing to it that members were being ban because of plagiarism was a good sight for it will take an effect on getting to a real and good discussion to be made and not just a copy and paste posts.

Yeah definitely plagiarists/plagiarism is frowned at,not just on this forum, even in schools, offices and in businesses..
No one ever likes someone posing as the original architect when he or she is not..
Precisely. Plagiarism is a dangerous "mistake", but I also have a little doubt.
Plagiarism is no mistake at all, every plagiarist knows exactly what he or she is actually doing trying to steal someone else's own work..
The thing is they just hope to cheat the system and go unnoticed, and cry foul play/mistake when caught...
