Are you speaking about the blockchain wallet airdrop? I think they want to distribute 500 million XLM to their users that worth around 125 million USD. If you are speaking about his airdrop, it is true, because they have announced it on their Twitter.

Stellar seemed to me as a nice project with a good future. But now I saw that ridiculous airdrop with video KYC Grin
For me it discredits the project and from side seems funny.
what is your opinion?

I thought that KYC with video call is just a hearsay in bounty and airdrops world, now based on your post, its happening for XLM airdrop, really? I think this is time consuming for manager who are holding that airdrop? It takes to time to finish doing that KYC.

It is a pretty airdrop but i wont join because i don't know their purpose, what they are going to do with my identity and my face photo, video. It is not a new project or new ICO, it is already a famous project with millions of customers, i don't think they run this airdrop to make their project more popular and KYC to against cheaters. The purpose of this airdrop is for collecting users identities.

They won't be giving $25 worth of XLM away for free Smiley You will need to do KYC and give them permission to use your data, not really worth $25. Unless I can take a picture of a goat and it passes the KYC Smiley

This procedure is not required. Only those who want to take part in airdrop. For those who are not interested can still use their Blockchain Wallet without verifying. A strange idea, trying to attract newcomers to the world of the blockchain, while demanding their personal data.

what? really? XLM airdrop needs video KYC? lol, stellar is a good coin, but why they need video KYC?, it seem the airdrops is level up, I don't even join an airdrop that needs Identity Card to be qualified, well good luck those who pass their video KYC.

Stellar is a cryptocurrency founded in early 2014 by Jeb Mccaleb and Joyce Kim. The striking difference between Stellar and other cryptocurrency is that 95 percent of this digital currency is provided free of charge. New coins of this digital currency are not obtained through mining because Stellar uses the Consensus algorithm which automatically generates new coins and verifies each transaction. brilliant idea, but it is unfortunate that a coin must be KYC and that a long-running project is very funny to me

Perhaps this is necessary in order to weed out the cheaters.
But i think people who have never heard about cryptocurrency will not do a KYC...

It's even worst than try give the participant a mandatory to complete the KYC through verification data. This airdrop has been forced anyone that interested with a few bucks to do KYC through online video. This is a big joke in the crypto history and how this is a really bad thing to do.

This is a good project and they are creating the largest airdrop in the history of crypto. And of course KYC is needed to avoid the cheater, you are here to say that XLM is a bullshit project. You are angry because you cant cheat from their airdrop ?

Yeah, part of it is to make sure that the airdrops won't be abused, but in a wide perceptions I guess giving up your personal identity by completing kyc is not a good thing to do just by receiving small amounts of rewards, still not the concept of crypto as mentioned by most people around, it will be taken by those bounty hunters who already got experience giving their identity and willing to take the risk.

It is easier to just ignore this kind of way. Many of us hated that KYC procedure because it makes us vulneravle to attacks.
Better just let it go. Stop being greedy for money just because they are saying it is a million dollar worth of coin.
Bitcoin is a million dollar coin and yet doesnt need those type of information to be leaked.

I guess they are trying to attack newbies with this. Better just warn them before going through those type of application. Or we will be seeing threads of hacks again.

I see this airdrop not like airdrop but like "Sell your KYC now for $25 in XLM someday in the future". I wonder how many fools would fall for that? Is this a census of idiots?

I heard about this airdrop, but did not know that it would require kyc Shocked And here it turns out that not just documents are required, but also a video verification ... I don’t think there are many people who want to do this for such a small amount of money. Personally, I avoid campaigns where kyc is required and plan to stick to it in the future for my own safety.

I received an offer like this from blockchain.com seems legit though I lost some XLM when I sent to one exchange but forgot to fill the memo because I have no idea what to choose and it did not arrive on that exchange and this is because of the memo issue, any similar incidents like this, anyway it's just $10 worth of XLM.
I once had similar experience when i wanted to send my XLM to OTCBTC. It was a painful experience, because that was all o had at that time. I expected it to arrive on the exchange, by it was all like a dream. After several hours of waiting, i had to contact the admin and i was told i did not fill in the memo ID to accompany my transaction. I as given an option of paying some charges, but the funny thing was that, what i sent there was not even upto the charges. So, that was how i lost it.
I also recieved a mail from blockchain, so the airdrop is legit.

It's not a real airdrop. They are just buying information. A lot of companies do this, for example, N26, Revolut gave free $$ if u signed up and did KYC. In my optinion it's not worth selling your data for $25 worth of XLM.

Learn more about this airdrop by watching video by Altcoin Buzz:
