Did you by chance buy the account?

It sounds like when the email was changed, the security email would have been sent to the original email address.

Now whoever has control of that email could have selected that theh dis not change the email address associated with the btct account. Resulting in a locked account that cannot be logged into.

Edit: your edit just made sense to me. Just wondering now who the random person with access to the previous email would have been? Seems strange.

As long as you sent a complaint to the right source and you sure of your claims then you can just wait for a reply but also there are possibilities you might be guilty of other offenses like plagiarism or where breaking other rules.  The forum has a good record when it comes to banning i stand to be corrected it only in one case that a member was banned and justified his claims of being wrongfully banned he was initially guilty of plagiarism but just that he plagiarise his own article. So I wish you luck in your quest

This problem is similar that of a person trying to recover an account that has been hacked by change of password and Email. The link sent to the email is usually used to locked account to avoid if from being used illegally. Now the only way you can recover your account is through proof of ownership

Although it looks to me like you probably bought the account from someone and that person probably scammed you and decided terminate the account by clicking on the link because how would anyone else know the yopmail associated with the accountl?

The random person can't access the account, the link is only to lock the account. I didn't buy this account. I sent a signed message which was posted over 1 year ago I think.

The account is not banned it's locked. It was my fault though for using open access email. Simple mistake turns out to be a huge headache.

You can wait for a very long time if you're waiting for Admins, they barely recover accounts.
However, since it's not hacked, you still have access, and it's only locked "for security", you may be in luck: as far as I know, Global Moderator hilariousandco can unlock those accounts.
My recommendation: sign message to prove ownership, include your current account name, the date, and a link to the staked address, and either post it here, or send it to hilariousandco. This is probably your best option, good luck!

It's a miracle if your account got recovered in this week or this month.
