Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever seen a crypto coin sold at a legit historical currency/numismatic dealer/auction?

What year do you expect this to happen?  A lot of psychological hurdles need to be overcome beforehand.  I'd guess 2030 at the earliest, but maybe I'm optimistic  Roll Eyes

Would be really cool to see this some day.   Grin

For folks who aren't familiar with numismatic dealers, this is a cool sample: http://www.collectorscorner.com/Currency/

How old are the youngest coins usually found at such a dealer?

I set up shop last year at a local coin show.
No sales, but definitely some interested lookers.
Only 1 kid knew what it was at that time.
I imagine if I did it again, might get a better reception....

Cool display minerjones!!

I'd love to see it in person.  If you ever do this again, please consider letting us know.  (If doxing isn't an issue)

Prediction: by 2040 will be an entire event just for crypto coins and collectibles.   Cheesy

minerjones, you know photos of the ky coinz in ANACS slabs gives me seizures, please stop.

I have sold some loaded bitcoin collectibles to a coin dealer in my area.  They are for his personal collection though, he is not selling them in his business.  I interact with several different coin collecting forums and groups and beginning in 2017 a small segment of these groups have begun collecting crypto collectibles.  Other than ebay, I have not seen crypto collectibles auctioned outside of this forum.  I say 20 years from now we will see Casascius Coins at Heritage and the like.

What a nice display @MJ. No sale? - Wow, goes to show we are still so early. Ugh, feels like we are moving in slow-motion sometimes.

@Lesbian Cow: Nice to hear that at least some collector groups are getting interested. Cheesy
