Beware this user.  Wants you to send to a PP account that is unregistered.  I made that mistake and then he complains that he never got it (even though I have an email confirmation and transaction id that says otherwise).  I call him out on it and he calls me a scammer.  He then wants me to use a different paypal address.  I offered to use an escrow at this point, to protect us both.  He then decided to cancel the deal instead.

PS Cablepair:  The one negative rating in my bitcoin-otc profile isn't transaction related, it was a retaliatory rating from a user because he's an asshat.  Nevermind the 50+ unique positive ratings.

Offering to use an escrow isn't a scam.  I'll post the full set of emails in here.  I have transaction id's to prove my side.  How about you?

all these transactions are obviously fake - you got caught abusing the rating system thats why you got the -10

Amanda, you are just trying to save face, you know damn well you dont want to send paypal as gift because that way you cant charge me back.

these guys are pathetic

think about this

I have been building my reputation for the last 7 months, I am a hero member with a good reputation. I run businesses that are traded on GLBSE - but I am going to throw it all away for $50 right?

does that make sense? of course it does not.

now go away.

I don't have to prove anything to anyone, the deal never happened now I say it again go crawl back under whatever rock you came from

A 'hero member' means nothing other than you have many postings on the forums.  It proves nothing as to trustworthiness.

Its funny how you cling to that one -10 rating from a user.  Have you looked at that user's ratings?  They are a fraction of mine.  If you would take a minute out of your oh so busy day to join the #bitcoin-otc irc channel, you can speak with any person in that channel to verify that my ratings are indeed legit.  In fact, they'll tell you I'm much more legit than the user that gave me my negative rating.

Explain to me how using an escrow is a scam.

cablepair, you didn't like me any ratings or previous transactions, so how did you ever expect me to know? Instead of linking them you call me a scammer.. Yeah that'll work.

im sorry - I don't mean to call you a scammer - I really have no proof of that and I apologize

you were just in the unfortunate position of being the next person I tried to deal with after imsaguy

If you never intended to scam that I apologize. I will also post this in your other thread.

here is my latest transaction for all to see, I sold over $600 worth of GPU's to one person, he paid me up front in Bitcoins - you can ask him if I am legit or not (amazinggrando)

and to imsaguy - If you are not a scammer I apologize but anyone that looks at your feedback would think the same thing

Actually, any sensible person doesn't take a single negative rating from a much less trusted user as the single overriding factor.  He got pissy after I negative rated him and his -10 was retaliatory.  Its no different than the old eBay ratings.. you negative rate someone and you can almost expect a negative rating back.

Look at this page.  It lists the ratings by total rating: http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratings.php

Where do you see my name?  oh, that's right.  #9 on the list.  I am the 9th highest person.

Next, look at this page. It lists the ratings by unique ratings: http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratings.php?sortby=pos_rating_recv_count&sortorder=DESC

Where do you see my name?  in a 3 way tie for 8th.

It doesn't get much better than that.

Now go back and look for that user that negative rated me.  Where do you see his name?  Don't worry, I'll give you a few minutes to count.

Indeed. I don't know Imsaguy whatsoever. However, you can ask for example Yankee for a vouch, I just bought several things from his topic and he has received his BTC.

He does not have a side of the story he is not claiming he sent me money at all
The transaction we were discussing never took place
He did not agree to my terms and I did not agree to his terms

He felt like I was accusing him of being a scammer so he accused me of the same to defend himself
And blah blah blah another stupid thread and wasted time

No one on either side is claiming to have been ripped off by the other

Here's a screen cap of my paypal.  I've redacted my other transactions as well as the email.  I'm willing to give a forum mod the full emails/transaction ids.

Basically, since he gave me an address that wasn't registered, it gets put into limbo.  After all, a person could have mistyped the email address.  If a person uses a verified pp account, that option isn't available. You can see in the emails where I cancelled it.

I didn't typo, I copied and pasted.  He typed his first receiving address to me in two separate emails, so I find it unlikely it was a typo.

If he's so worried about reversals, he should know that having a verified account will help with that.

I am sorry imsguy. I assumed based on the -10 feedback on bitcoin-otc and the fact that the payment never showed up after you said it was sent that you were trying to scam me, I do a ton of business on craigslist and  you have no idea how many people have tried to scam me by sending me fake paypal emails - its happened literally dozens of times. I did not know you could not receive money in paypal with a non verified email address, and the fact that you were trying to call me a scammer made me think even worse of you, I mean seriously dude, if you built up hero status and reputation on here since April and have a good standing reputation and all that would you throw it all away for a $50 scam? Dude look at my signature I mine $50 in about every 3 days. If I was going to do a scam it would be for big $$$ - I just sold somebody $600 worth of GPU's and they paid me up front no questions asked.

This whole thing was a senseless waste of time, and I really apologize if your intentions were honest and I thought not but this whole damn flame thread war was so senseless I hope we can put it to rest now.

have a good one.

I know that my reputation and forum account is worth at least $51. Let's start the bidding.

But on a serious note, it sounds like this was all just a big clusterfuck of misunderstanding. Hopefully, all parties involves give it a second before they throw out the 's' word. I used to be a lot quicker to call people out, but a couple times it wasn't a clear cut scam and I ended up feeling sort of bad about it. This isn't exactly the easiest community to figure out. Bitcoin: trolls' and scammers' delight.

Perhaps, but a teamviewer session with a mod would prove my screen shot, if that's what it took.

I blacked the rest out because believe it or not, I have other business besides his 1 transaction.  Its none of your business what my other transactions are.

$5 says you put that -10.
Seriously, Are you gonna say that ALL THOSE PEOPLE whom are on his OTC rating (Including ME, Of wich i bought PPUSD FROM IMSAGUY) are Sock Puppets. Giving him free ratings.
If they're were sock puppets, Then they're would be ALOT of +10's and Blank +1's
Oh but hang on, Lots of people commonly leave out the Comments section when rating because they dont know it exsists
