To start with, I’am owner of a small coffee shop and the business goes well now, because we caught the wave in the right time several years ago. Now, ofc crypto will be on the peak, but I’am afraid not in my country yet. We are planning start-up (fast food) and want to stand up from the crowd by adding crypto as a payment method. Who have an experience/ knowledge of such integration, help me please with the process  step by step?

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

It depends. Do you want to hold the crypto? Or do you want something that would be automatically converted into fiat at the point of sale?

If it's the former, then simply create a separate wallet for your restaurant's payments, just as how you would normally create a personal wallet. If it's the latter, then probably try out BitPay[1]. Currently I think they only support BTC and BCH.

It depends where you are
If you are open to other alts apart from BTC and BCH i suggest you should try and check out https://pundix.com/
I personally participated in their ICO and it was impressive... The project is really progressing well. The company makes even payment XPOS devices for crypto payment which can easily be shipped to your country.
Please Check it out as an option.

You could go with reputable payment processors such as BitPay (BTC, BCH) - Coinbase (BTC, BCH, ETH) - CoinPayments (All the major coins +1000 other altcoin).

I'm not sure about Coinbase but for BitPay and CoinPayments there are fees for every transaction that is made. Alternatively, you could use BTCPayServer and run everything yourself to avoid the fees etc. (but you'll clearly have to pay for the servers to run the full node etc.)

If it's the former, then simply create a separate wallet for your restaurant's payments

There's something else I've found for that, but I'm not sure how trustworthy it is.
Seems like you can also easily accept Bitcoin payments through Coingate, which is a Bitcoin payment terminal that you can just run on Android or IOS.

The benefit of this is that you can also choose to receive payouts with Bitcoin, which isn't possible with Bitpay as far as I know.
They charge zero fees for Bitcoin payouts, as stated on their website.

OP your future restaurant will be one of a kind restaurant that will welcome all crypto lovers. Besides, this will attract other people also in your area because of the unique proposed payment where other stores may do not offer. Yet, the difficulties to integrate between highly volatile crypto market price and the fiat currency will hinder for anytime adjustments of payment for the food they order.

So, OP you should consider this and plan ahead the things for the problem that may come and should prepare for it. Keep us updated with your plan and the implementation for us to be motivated as well to keep up with the new trend of payment. I am planning also to start with T-shirt Printing theme related to cryptocurrency.

I think the first thing to consider should be an estimation of how much money you are expecting to be paid through bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies if at all. for instance if you don't expect less than a couple of payments per month then going with a payment processor like Bitpay may not be the best idea. setting up a simple light (SPV) wallet such as Electrum and accepting payments that way is a much easier option. you can print out the QR code of a single address and stick it in front of the cashier with a bitcoin is accepted here sign so that if anyone wanted they can pay that way.
if it is more number of payments then you may want a more elaborate setup and possibly think about setting up a full node instead of an SPV wallet and generate a new address for each payment.
and if it is a lot of payments and you want the fiat equivalent so that you never have to worry about the fluctuations but also if you are ok with the fees they take from you then use Bitpay.

Well as you can see bitcoin is at demand right now so basically if we somehow be a futurisitic person we could say that it would last longer , and it's a fact that bitcoin will be the next currency though. So for me , as for my perspective, maybe somehow advertise it with a factor that a bitcoin can be a payment.

Start from the little be patience always , and take the risk bro, don't be afraid so no regret, have plan a to z and attend seminars also ask for help mostly to your friends.

Congratulations to your business, hope it will continue good. You have a great idea in adding cryptos in your mode of payment but take in consideration of the other factors that maybe a hindrance in doing this. Like, if most of your market target know cryptos? Also the setup of the new payment scheme is expensive (i dont k ow how much itvis but as what i read from articles its kinda expensive with a lot of hardwork and troubleshooting). But if you really want to pursue it, just go ahead because you are still the one who knows your potential.

Usually I can just contact with the crypto owner if you want to implement the payment platform.
For example : If I'm accept Pundi X, I will contact them so they can give their instalation program and their POS device for transaction.

All you need is preparation whenever your government already agree or not against crypto because I'm afraid that you may have the problem with them in the future.

You need to use one of the methods available in whatever country you are in that is easiest for you.

The on-ramps and off-ramps are different everywhere so without knowing your country it's difficult to say.

I would definitely go with the Pundi X platform any time any day. I had a look at their device and how it works. I loved it

Agreed, the biggest challenge is the Government regulations... but as time goes on am pretty sure goverment will bow down to the pressure of using blockchain based assets only that the will get away of trying to control it or levy the tax on the assets

If I may know, in which country do you live? Does your country ban cryptocurrency transactions? Some seniors who have commented above have given you the best solution. Then now you can consider it. We wish you success and success in running your business.

when your country bans crypto, but many people adopt crypto, I suggest that you have to accept crypto in your business, but not for priority.

You must provide a bitcoin address, so they can send you BTC for coffee and food.

Infrastructure is not really ready yet , for direct crypto , you don't have the time to waste waiting for onchain confirmations,
and the alts that are fast enough are a few years from having the liquidity needed for such a venture.

Your only real options at the present time is
1. Take Offchain Payments  thru an exchange such as cryptopia.
Advantages: Speed, no limits on amount like LN, Requires no long # address as funds are deposited to your Exchange User Name, Can be any coin on their exchange

Or

2. Having your Customers buy Gift cards with Crypto and then use the Gift Card at your business.
examples
https://www.gyft.com/
https://www.egifter.com/
https://www.cardfy.com/

Many large companies already use option 2.

it does not matter whether you hold or convert a cryptocurrency immediately

This statement is False, it absolutely matters whether you hold or convert.
As a Business , you need the price paid to you to be the same as what you received at time of purchase,
downward fluctuations in held coins can wipe out your profit and cause a loss to your business.
The only people that should hold coins are speculators not people running a non-speculative business.
Example: If the value of the coins drop by ½ or ¼ , it can be a big problem for you.
In the past year btc alone dropped from $20000 to now ~$6500, that is over 3X loss.

Any that can accept a credit card.  Wink
https://www.giftcards.com/gcgf/small-business-giftcards

Quote
Because the gift card runs on the open network,
the merchant’s existing credit card processing system will be able to accept the card–in stores, over the phone, and online.
This is simply a very quick way to get a gift card into the hands of your customers.

Buy Gift Card with crypto, then use the gift card on their cc system.
It won't get any easier for the business owner or customer.
(EGift Cards are stored on people's Mobile phone and their CC system reads it's barcode.)
