Could someone here explain in simple terms what is this Bitcoin ABC fork all about? I believe it's going to occur in 6 days from now.

According to their official website, the definition says ABC is a full node implementation of the Bitcoin Cash protocol. But what does that mean exactly? Shouldn't we be able to run a full node in BitcoinCash client in the first place just like with Bitcoin and Bitcoin core?

If it's simply a software to run a full node just like Bitcoin Knots or Armory for example then why there is a hard fork needed?

It is nothing any sane investor should care about. The only reason why there is even a small hype around it (which there really isn't) is only about getting free coins from the fork. Right now if you hold bitcoin cash you will be able to get bitcoin cash abc and bitcoin cash SV with it, which means with one coin you will own three coins at the same time and no matter how much it will be at the start you will be capable of selling all three and make profit, at least what traders see it, maybe it won't worth it I don't know. Aside from that early short term gain there is absolutely nothing to be gained from it, just another bitcoin fork that will die, I have no idea how bitcoin cash even got here, probably thanks to unending support from Roger Ver who is rich like hell and probably keeping bitcoin cash above the water with traders.

Another unnecassary fork actually.

If you have some bitcoin you may earn some $ selling it at the right time but besides that i don't think it will be a thing.

The attraction is mostly for the free tokens that would come with the fork which can be traded for some quick short term gains. Other than that I don't see the need for a fork, almost makes no sense

Definitely. Just like the btc forks. And the masses last year didn't care about it and just joined the hype so they are thinking maybe now they can do the same. It's gonna be a cycle in this way unless they can think of anything unique and adding more value to the cvryptoverse for mass adoption.

You should watch the latest drama between Dr Craight S wright and jihan wu and you will know what bitcoin ABC is.
Bitcoin ABC will be using POS system, and bitmain will have full control over bitcoin ABC. This is a battle between bitcoin ABC AND  SV. Bitcoin SV is a full node implementation of bitcoin cash and it's not ABC.
Watch the latest story about that here https://coinsutra.com/bitcoin-cash-fork/

I can explain that none of the forks make much sense, except perhaps the Bitcoin Cash. The rest, including bitcoin Gold and any other number of colours are useless.

BCHABC - This is the continuation of BCH. Improved version without renowned liar Craig Faketoshi Wright.
BCHSV - This is a new coin.

According to https://cash.coin.dance, BCHABC officially won hash war.

Announcement

Coin Dance is now able to declare that both active chains will continue to be permanently split into the foreseeable future. The majority of businesses in the cryptocurrency ecosystem are now using Bitcoin Cash (BCH) to refer to the chain maintained by miners operating in consensus with the latest implementations from Bitcoin ABC, Bitcoin Unlimited, Bitprim, Bitcoin XT, bcash, and bchd. A number of exchanges have added support for the Bitcoin SV chain under the Bitcoin SV (BSV / BCHSV) name but general app support is currently very limited. Expect to see announcements made from each of the major companies in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem that clarify which chain(s) they will support going forward.

The Bitcoin Cash ABC (BCHA) project team has announced a rebranding and switching to Avalanche's PoS consensus algorithm, which will allow users to participate in staking and make transactions faster. July 1 at 12 PM UTC the network will change its name to eCash (XEC). After the update, BCHA holders will be credited with XEC in the ratio of 1:1,000,000.  https://e.cash/media/bitcoin-abc-rebrands-to-ecash-becomes-the-first-bitcoin-based-network-to-offer-staking
