Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

No.  Here are the two major BTC-related subreddits and why they're not worth following:

r/bitcoin - extremely pro-Core/SegWit biased, history of censorship, also tends to be an echo chamber on bullish market sentiment.
r/btc - extremely anti-Core/SegWit biased, in favour of Bitcoin Cash and most discussions are about it.  An echo chamber for bullish market sentiment about Bitcoin Cash.

The subreddit r/btc was mainly created to retaliate against r/bitcoin and therefore even though it appears to be uncensored, it is an echo chamber against the opinions expressed in r/bitcoin.

Generally I would avoid Reddit when discussing crypto.  To be honest there aren't any ideal mediums for BTC discussion, but on Bitcointalk it's at least fairly free and possible to have a reasonable discussion.

There are a lot of good cryptocurrency groups. Here are my favorites:

- Ethtrader

- Ethereum

- Bitcoin

And if you aren't that experienced in cryptocurrencies:

- Ethereumnoobies

- Bitcoinbegginers

Try bitcoinmarkets, which is a neutral sub devoted to trading bitcoin:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/

Ethtrader, which is devoted to trading ether and all it's derivatives:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/

Also Cryptocurrency, which has a good deal of info about all sorts of alts:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/

Most alts have their own subreddits as well, where they post about news and developments for their coins.

There's only one which you rely on in terms of cryptocurrency discussions. It's bitcointalk forum. You can find all details that you want and we can discuss it. There's so many forums in the internet. But Bitcointalk only is the best destination for cryptocurrency enthusiasts like me. Every altcoins here have dicussions. For me, it's good to know whether their opinion is good or bad. I see some forum like this. Reddit is good though. But it's not completely cryptocurrency related forum like Bitcointalk.

Reddit is much open platform to discuss and get help regarding bitcoins (than this forum) or any cryptocoins. Just search the subreddit with the name and join the discussion.

If I were you I'd rather join a discord or telegram group. Those groups can give a good insight of investments or technical analysis. You don't necessarily need to reply, you can just observe.
