It's really simple. Use MyCrypto instead of Myetherwallet. It's made by the same team, It looks the same and it has more improvements so there is no reason why you wouldn't use it.

I haven't seen a single phishing attempt yet targeting Mycrypto, most likely because hackers are not really aware of it as of now as not many people use it. Either way, the domain name is shorter so It's unlikely that you'll fall it.

I think if you want to avoid MEW phishing or any e-wallet phishing site. You should have knowledge of security in basic. I still using the MEW 2 years, and I have the habit that always bookmarks MEW to the bookmarks bar. I think this avoids the phishing scam website to steal your private key.

for the MEW phishing problem, that is our fault. we are careless in using an application / platform, so we don't have to change applications / platforms, but our habits must be changed to be more careful. If mycrypto is in the future there is a phishing website too, I'm sure there will be more cases like this, recommending new websites. MEW alloy and Metamask were more than enough for me

I think Myetherwallet phishing will be going to succeed if a crypto user will not going to be aware of the website domain address. Hackers can replace one "l" with a capital "i" in the 'myetherwaLLet' domain address. better to double check it always.

Nowadays I am hearing about a lot of instances in which MEW wallets are hacked and ETH and tokens being stolen. And in 99% of the cases, phishing is to be blamed. Be very careful while using MEW.

This could easily avoided if people will give value to their security and could extensively examine the site where they input their private keys and avoid downloading things that are suspicious and unncesessary
This, people somehow want complete control over their money and yet they want to somehow not being responsible in the case they lose their coins, with cryptocurrencies we are completely responsible of what happens to our coins and we need to act like it, even if hackers are the ones that are guilty of stealing your coins you need to take better precautions to not become a victim to them.

This time it looks so difficult for the hacker to scam others through use the phishing site. remember they just need to download the desktop wallet of MEW or Mycrypto and the problem has already fixed. It's so easy to do that dude. you should not feel worry about this case.

Those are phishing links and its not really the problem of MEW because they have been warning on their site since they have found a report like that. Be a responsible and vigilant user of their wallet so whenever you found something suspicious and the spelling isn't accurate then doubt it.

I think it's not that hard to stay safe. here are a few steps:

- antivirus always updated;
- use mew with a hardware wallet or at least metamask;
- double check the url, have a bookmark, don't trust links on social media, emails;
- cryptonite extension by metacert can check if a url is fake.

I am using MEW for 1 year now, no problem hacking or phishing, just install MetaMask and EtherAddressLookup in chrome browser extensions  you are good enough.

Myetherwalle, more popular. To the account hacking I think, Mycrypto security on the same level Myetherwalle. Just click on the fake link and enter the private key. And the wallet's been hacked Cry.

You can also use MEW wallet and avoid entering fishing websites. There are still some people that are sending their private addresses to strangers and are wondering why they have lost access to their wallet. Be advised guys!

We will try to go find and try that app as an alternative on MEW to avoid phishing. But I give one hint to other users, if you find without a padlock with green color in MEW address, make sure to avoid using it, because it is not secured. It can be a phishing attacks.

i haven't checked MyCrypto yet, but if it is more secure than Myetherwallet, i guess i have to take a look now.
Phishing website often targeting MEW users to input their private key or wallet key and password.
When i knew this, i start to not using MEW anymore but using my hard wallet. Or you can use metamask at least, to avoid phishing.

And also be aware of the characters "I" and "L", they might interchange the i and l inorder to look like the same domain website. Better to enter the address manually inoder to be sure about it.
