Multi GPU Mining

Hi,
I'm new to mining and still learning. I'll add more questions here once I start building. But for now, I have these:

Q1. a) Am I only allowed to mine one coin per GPU or can I use multiple GPUs to mine one coin?
      b) Can I mine multiple coins per rig (e.g. 4 coins on a 4 GPU rig) at the same time?

Q2. How does RAM come into play for mining e.g. a GTX 1060 3GB vs GTX 1060 6GB?

Q3. In terms of power usage, If I build a 4 GPU GTX 1080 rig - each gpu's maximum theoretical wattage is 180 W. Of course it's going to be lower but how much power do you expect it to use if I bios mod it? With other components using power as well, would a 1000 W PSU be enough?

Q4. I live in an apartment and pay fixed electricity bills. What tips do you have to maximize mining potential considering electricity is fixed?

The answer to question one is yes you can as long as you get two different miners that supports editing their batch file in order to add or remove cards to mine there, almost every miner I am aware offers this option.

Question two , always get the 6 GB version against 3 because the 6 GB can mine a specific coin for a larger amount of time, example is ethereum which cannot be mined with 3 GB after a few months.

Question 3 , a 1000 watt PSu is enough for 4 1080ti cards.

Question 4, use Msi Afterburner to set a lower power limit.

In Question #3, never heard of modding bios for GTX 1080, you can do underclocks to at least save electricity

Adding some in #4, mine the correct coin for your card, every cards has its sweet coins for them, say like NVIDIA and AMD's

1) You can multiple coins on various GPUs, however the setup and monitoring of these is troublesome but it can be done.
2) vRAM (making the distinction between regular ram) only matters for ETH hash algo. ETH/ETC have already passed 3GB limit so 1060 3GBs are out for those algo, however they can still be used for other ETH-Hash algo that the DAG is under like UBQ/EXP. Shaders/core clock/powerMemory type matter more than memory for pretty much every algo.
3) You cannot BIOs mod Nvidia GPUs like you would AMD. All you can do to lower power is use the power limiter from 60-100%. 1000w is enough for a 5 GTX1080 rig.
4) Fixed? meaning you only pay one amount every month no change? If so just run them at 80%-90% stick to coins like X22i, RVN, BTG or others that use the core advantage the 1080s off. You could mine ETH but i don't see a point.

In terms of power supply capacity it is always better have more powerful power supply. If you run it right on the edge you may experience that it may shut down itself from time to time under different environment conditions. Also if you switch to different algos you may find that it may not be enough power and then you will have to rebuild the rig or limit your power usage.

what is mean max mining potential?

if that's about the profit, I think mining activity is less potential for now

If you have a fixed electricity bill, buy BIG power hungry ASIC miners and run them 'til someone cries foul. Bitmain is almost giving them away.

A3: Do not forget that it's typical wattage but NOT a maximum. And the reserve is never excess especially of PSU.
Reserve about 100W for system (CPU+MoBo+SSD\HDD)
Try not exceed 80-85% of total power of PSU. The work at ultimate load reduces component resource.

A4: Now you have fixed bills. But as soon as the increase of electricity usage will be appeared the "fixed" can became "unfixed"

Yes for short ROI choose ASICs but ASICs are a terrible choice for Long-Term Mining, and finally ASIC will not be useful when it's no longer profitable and ASICs Manfucatures are too quick to issue new products
