Do you gamble or think it's a waste of money and time?

Many people gamble for different reasons, some look at gambling as a way to relax and to enjoy one or few hours. These are persons who have great self control. Other people look at gambling to make that extra money to complement their earnings or salary. These kind of persons are the ones who usually become addicted in the end although they start with small amount of money.

Last are the persons who never gamble and think gambling is a waste of time.

For me,gambling is not really a waste of time and money if you just gamble for fun and pleasure.Satisfaction is what most of the people are looking.And having to gamble even for few hours will not make us lose too much.I think that's already enough not to be addicted with it.

I think we could still gamble in our free time and we don't have to use gambling as the source for making money because there is no chance for us to get that money. All we can do play the game, enjoy the time and leave when the time comes. And if we can do this, I think we can prevent from losing too much money, and we come back in the other time, and we can play the other game. I think it's not a waste of money and time if we can manage our time and money so we could still enjoy the game.

It might seem that it will not make you addicted if you keep a bankroll management method. However when someone loses money they will try to make it back because it is their hard earned money and they would never want to let it go. Thats the biggest problem. They cant let go of their losses in gambling but they try to make it back.

When we run after the loss we waste more money and time. That why this notion is there that gambling is a waste of time and money. People have their opinions on it and its their personal judgement.

I rarely gamble, and when I do, I set a limit and never go over it. To me, it's just for entertainment. If I win big, I cash out and leave.

That is always the best way to approach gambling which is by setting yourself a good limit and in a lot of cases, people who do not get to do this, always end up getting pretty screwed up eventually as they tend to focus too much on the winning and then think the more they keep getting exposed, the more the chances would be for them.

But in reality, it is all gambling, it is all about luck, and whether we like it or not, the odds are always not going to be there to give us the chance to even want to win, which is the reason why there are always 99 losers and a winner at one time. With some little free cash and time though, not a bad idea to have some little fun in a casino anyway.

If my only reason why I gamble is to make money out from it, then I would be bankrupt by now since I am not as lucky as the others are. Most of the time I lost or I go home and lost gambling funds, take note, gambling funds only, meaning I don't gamble with all my money that I have with me. Reason why I gamble is to loosen up, de-stress and its a also a form bonding between me and my friends who also like to play in a casino. We know how to control our selves so we don't worry on losing, its just a form of entertainment on our part.

How many actual earn from gambling is the question finally considering the human behaviors people becomes greedy and run behind money and this is a free flow in gambling. Thus people if play for fun and not bother of money than it is fine else it can be very dangerous as it can lead to addiction as well.

I think gambling should be done in some limits only. A person should keep in mind his financial status and needs before gambling his money. It should be seen as a game played for fun only. So, one should not invest more than what you cannot afford to lose. The greed and addiction makes this game dirty and villainous. Well, probably once in a while when I actually just feel like wasting money for some little fun which could be derived. The fun can actually be there, the fun of not wanting to lose, even if you have set limit for yourself, but it takes a lot of self-discipline, once you have realized anyway that the odds are usually not in your favor 100% of the time, and because of that, you do not want to get unnecessarily engross in it to the point where you find yourself in a position that you do not want to, which in this case can be termed addiction.

Compromising time with family is something that every person should be careful of. If your habits are eating away at that then you should check on them and restrict yourself from playing. Initially it takes some extra effort and you might find yourself swaying at times but gradually your control over self will improve and you will be able restrict yourself.

If kept within limits anything can be stopped from becoming an addiction. Keeping a limit to how much time and money you spent on something is what everyone should try.

If you think that gambling is not good to chase money well, is time for you to stop while it's too early.

Everyone has a different point of view. Some dont need it but it makes them happy, it entertains them and stimulates their adrenaline while some look at it as indeed a waste of time. Me personally, I view gambling as waste of time. First, the chances of winning is smaller than the chances of losing. So if losing is more possible than winning why would I waste my time in a sure loss? Why would I endanger my money if I can use it to something more beneficial? Besides, I will not tempt myself for addiction.

And I'm on the type of rich guy and it is actually not a wasting time because it was fun.

Fact tho,but not all the rich people are only gambling for fun,some of them want to increase their worth too by playing gamling with the thought of hitting a jackpot or whatever.

Even from the two point of view as you mentioned when we gambler for fun then it is not waste of time,it is the well spend time.But from the point who are here for money they are losing their valuable time in the wrong place because it not the place where we can make money.

I think when talking about "serious gamblers" you are actually referring to people who are called problem gamblers or gambling addicts. You are absolutely right that gambling is a waste of time and money for them, but it's probably worth mentioning that they are minority. For most gamblers (if by a gambler we mean anyone who buys a lottery ticket at least once per year) it's an entertainment and only from 3% to 5% have gambling problems.

Also I think gambling can't be compared to investing in stocks, because the former is an entertainment and it is not advisable to try to make money with it, in the first place, while the latter is a boring process of making money which hardly anyone finds entertaining. Those are two absolutely different things.
