Not at all waste. Actually gambling is one kind of addiction. Whoever start play basically he can't leave it easily. Few are wining and few are losing, that's the game if gambling. I think all of us should try to make it our skill, it is best way to make money while you are enjoying your work. But no one is able to make money while they are a enjoying their work with any type of gambling. Probably if you are referring sport-betting, there could be plenty of chances for what you are saying. Still, you cannot enjoy your work as you need do lots of analysis before going for betting on a sport person or team. It may be entertaining as you are working in your interested sport events but when your analysis go wrong, you may not be enjoying.

I believe you should stop thinking gambling in this way. Gambling is definitely not a source of income as most gamblers are making losses only. But you have to accept the reality that victory does not happen most of the time.
