I recently switched to Bithumb. They are having a new event for foreign users every month. 20,000 won ( $18) of insite currency for making transactions up to 20 million won (18k) seems pretty tempting.

You know what that is called? It's called volume manupulation. It motivates people to create fake trades just to scoop up some pocket change, while Bithumb itself continues to climb the volume ladder on sites such as CMC. I don't recommend anyone to use forgeign exchanges, especially with how their support desk sucks, and mostly doesn't have native English staff on board.

Binance is the place to be for every person just looking to trade some altcoins without being bugged by verification requests, plus they have very decent withdrawal limits, which other exchanges can't match. Look no further.

Poloniex is horrible. I didn't know some people are still using this website. Move on to another. Binance is maybe the most popular currently, Bittrex is another, just look around.

I totally agree, in recent years they proved to be a very bad service and what most shocked me was that they were sold but I did not see changes it seems that it continues as it was years ago

Move on to another. Binance is maybe the most popular currently, Bittrex is another, just look around.

I agree that Binance is the best option, but in the case of Bittrex I advise not to leave too much money in the account of Bittrex, because they also have serious problems, last year many people lost money because bittrex took very unfair actions and without warning

Hasn't Poloniex been sold over to Circle a few months ago? The situation may be different since? But yeah, not difficult to find a good exchange in 2018. Bittrex was good before they introduce the KYC changes. I used it before but left due to the change.
Poloniex and Yobit are 2 sites to avoid.

You will get lots of responses here that will make you more confused. But you can consider those exchanges that will mentioned here lots of times as reference.

Consider there:

a) What coins do you trade?
b) Choose only those popular ones if you don't know how to play with the risks with new exchanges
c) Common issue about the exchange

Honestly, Im not the type of person that will recommend a certain site because obviously, we might don't have the same experienced using them. You really need to test the waters at those exchanges. But of course the testing will just be made to those sites that passed your criteria based on your research.

Poloniex back in previous years when its reigning the popularity and do dropped down when they have bought by Circle implementing strict KYC which the reason
for its reputation to collapse but still a capable exchange to use on but most people know on whats exchange is leading now. Binance would be preferable but
well same as said above it would vary or depend on what coin you are trading on.

Your best bet is still Binance at the moment.

You made a good decision to switching from poloniex, in my opinion. Despite Circle's acquisition they seemed to not have made a lot of progress in terms of upping their overall service, including withdrawal problems and customer support issues that are still being reported in the past few months after the acquisition happened.

As a former legacy poloniex user, I can say that the transition to Binance is by far the easiest because I think all the features are quite similar to poloniex. They are also one of the most trusted exchanges at the moment with a 2 BTC daily unverified withdrawal limit which is awesome. They're the logical choice to make I believe, as their PR has been pretty good in the past as well. All the other exchanges such as Bittrex, Bitfinex all have much more major issues that I wouldn't want to get involved as a user with.
