And apart from this, one thing to keep in mind is basic security like do not click on links from sources you don't trust, to not install apps from untrusted sources, be it desktop or mobile, don't open email attachments from people you don't know. Even better, don't open attachments even from people you do know, because they could be hacked. What I do when I receive a document via email is I upload it to Google Drive and open it from there. In this way I ensure that I don't get viruses or malicious scripts running on my machine.
Also, if you use public Wi-Fi's it's best to use a VPN. There are a great deal of VPN providers out there, and you can even built one yourself, by buying a hosting package for $5 and installing Open VPN.
