The launch of Wampumcoin was flawless, and the mining is great -- one of the easiest to mine I have seen so far.
As to the rumours and worries out there (I have come across a number of them on Facebook and similar venues), I guess this is a coin that's different from others for a number of reasons:
- this is a small coin, so things are (rightly) moving slow (but steady), - I have seen many coins that have me worried a lot more than what people are whining about out there when it comes to wampumcoins, - the coin devs have the bigger picture in mind and they are moving to see this plan through, - Wampumcoin's bigger picture includes sound plans for getting a REAL ECONOMY behind the coin, - there's little use in yet another brainless coin that some bunch of pump-and-dump whackos play around with, and WAM is different, - once WAM gains traction with merchants, the wider developments of this coin have all the ingredients to be stellar, - there is a clearly defined target group (of merchants and business users) for WAM to be approached by Reps (hence the pre-mine), - how many exchanges WAM is "listed" on or "voted into" is secondary (would incentivise stupid pump-and-dump behavior anyway)...
The fact that all three big OS-s are supported and had clients right from the beginning, that the pre-mine is well justified and, thus, less of an issue than general "wisdom" seems to believe along with the overall vision for the coin, and many more aspects makes WAM one of the better ones.
Compare this to, say, ECcoin or similarly "dedicated" communities of shallow players riding some self-proclaimed "environmental-friendliness", touting their coin with superficial PR buzz and for all the wrong reasons while really just being **copycats of Mintcoin's overall PoS concept**, with a severe flaw down the line when defined "minting" rewards are stopping at that, and everyone should be able to see which one is the more genuine approach.
Therefore, WAM is a promising coin I have decided to stick around with for the longer term. It is obvious that if things play out and this coin is a success this will need some room to breathe. So I guess I'll give Wampumcoin the time it needs to succeed.

I updated the installer and Qt of build 1.1 with new nodes, checkpoints, and the max wampum coin update. Yes we raised the coin count on wampum just a little bit. In addition, its built with the newer OpenSSL which fixes the "Heartbleed" issue. Another node is being added, and the current nodes have been updated as said above. This will fix any synching problems with the networks and wallets from here on out.
