Dear Bountymanagers

When looking at translated ANN threads and Bounty threads on our Japanese local section, I find many threads translated by Bounty participants who is not native speakers obviously, and their Japanese is terrible. Every time I see those threads, I feel uncomfortable thinking that spammers are making money with this jobs. They are probably translating using like Google Translator, so there are many things in common that native Japanese never translate like that. So I will share it to reveal whether they are a native speaker or not. I think it will help to find spammers who pretending to be translators of native speakers. These are examples of incorrect translations.

1)
When they translate “Telegram”  by using the google translator, it will be a "電報".  This is wrong. When talking about crypto, Japanese people  does not translate Telegram as "電報". So it is a sign of translated by Google translater.
   →

2)
When they translate “Exchange”  by using the google translator, it will be a "交換". This is wrong. When talking about crypto, Japanese people does not translate Exchange as "交換". So it is a sign of translated by Google translater.

3)
When you translate “Miner”  by using the google translator, it will be a "鉱夫". This is wrong. When talking about crypto, Japanese people does not translate Miner as "鉱夫". So it is a sign of translated by Google translater.

4)
When you translate “Wallet”  by using the google translator, it will be a "財布". This is wrong. When talking about crypto, Japanese people does not translate Wallet as "財布". So it is a sign of translated by Google translater.

5)
When you translate “Whitepaper”  by using the google translator, it will be a "白書". This is wrong. When talking about crypto, Japanese people does not translate Whitepaper as "白書". So it is a sign of translated by Google translater.

I am happy if this thread can help reduce spammers. Also, the status of other languages can be shared by this thread.

This topic should not be in Meta as you are addressing bounty managers. You could move it to altcoin discussion
Or it's child board Token (altcoin)

Bounty managers/japanese translation etc has nothing to do with the meta board,if you feel some unscrupulous individuals are trying to cheat in a bounty by claiming to be Japanese, then you simply report them to the bounty managers

This sort of issue is not forum moderated,do not waste our time with them

Bounty managers won't bother checking each language like that.
Either they will include proofreading in their bounty, or your community has to report this to the BM and report the bad translation to the moderator, as they are against the rules.

It is still not helpful. It is better to move this topic to your local board for they are your real audience for this language you presented. This forum is an English forum and you are writing in your language as translated but none of it that we could understand. However, I get your point that things could be different if the translation which is being done by google translator. The defective part of the translation will be determine by the local board users and they have the options to report it to the bounty manager on the project they are working with.

It is a multi-million spam(scam) system here if you haven't found out yet.
99% of the altcoin "projects" appear only to get attention and to fool some investors for $.

Fake projects make fake announcements to distribute fake tokens to the fake user( crowd of spammers) here controlled by fake Bounty managers in a wish to get REAL money at the end. Often your money.

Those fake translations are just a small piece in the whole fake spam system here, I don't think you can break it.

Although I appreciate you addressing this problem to the community but you also just gave any potential google translator quite a few tips on how to improve their google translated Japanese translations!

The best thing you can do if you find a translation that is google translated is to report the thread and the user, address the problem in the Japanese subforum so that legit translators can see it and report it as well which will improve your odds of having the scammer banned.

There is a very simple way, but many bounty managers will not do it.
Check the posts history of the translator in the local section except for the ANN. If a translator has never any discuss with members of the local section, I think such a translator should not be accepted.

This sort of issue is not forum moderated,do not waste our time with them
It may not be a forum issue or moderated, but it's definitely a problem I've seen with idiots getting paid for lousy google-translate translations.  I'm not sure if this should be in Meta or not, but that's a trivial matter that the mods can take care of.

How much are people getting paid for these translations?  Is it a significant amount?  I can't imagine someone with actual skill in translating doing an entire ANN thread or whitepaper or whatever for a small sum of money.  Could that be why there are so many translation "cheaters"?

Anyway, I thought the OP here was helpful and I don't think it's a waste of time trying to help with the problem.

There are some "bounty-hunters" who are translating announcements into native languages but unless we have some people who are vigilant enough to verify that those are properly done and not google translate nothing can be done. One who is native that language should keep an eye on them and report anybody who uses automatic translators.

Again, there are several words that cannot be really "translated" OP here shows the words wallet and whitepaper which caught my attention. I dont understand Japanese but I can say that these technical words are sometimes tough to "translate" exactly into one word.

Words like "telegram" just need to be converted to the string of letters that make it sound like "telegram" because its a proper noun here.

So this becomes subjective where the translator might try to use some colloquial terms to explain the technical jargon to the natives. I would not consider that as a bad translation though since nobody here is a professional interpreter.

Actually this is exactly what happens, and it works pretty well.

French board vigilance thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4628772
German board vigiliance thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4415262

On the german board we even have qwk (a legendary acc) who is incentivizing busting translation spam by giving merits to accurate reports!

Für (vernünftige, angemessene) Meldungen hier gebe ich merit.
Damit sich der Aufwand auch lohnt.
Falls ich hier einen Post übersehe, dürft ihr mir auch eine Erinnerungs-PM schicken.

Resulting in a pretty clean board in both local sections.

Even though our problem is not entirely the same, but we do have those crappy translators who don't give a damn about translating properly. They just spin texts from Google Translate. On top of that, those bounty managers (not all of them ofc) are way too lazy to check their portfolio seriously and will only accept them on first come first serve basis.

Scammers are parasites of crypto world, just because of it is so easy to manage. Cryptomans from over the world are running for fast and easy profit and other people are using that in their targets. I think it's impossible to uncover each one or destroy it till the end. People were scammed and they will be, nothing will be changed.

The most of managers do their job well and take a look at a candidate's post history. But not in bounty sections, they take like everyone who applied.
