Hi all,

I have lost access to my 2011 account which has over 4000 posts.  When I try to get my password back, I get messages that my email address is not recognised even though I have old emails from noreply@bitcointalk.org relating to that account in my inbox.

Who can help me resolve this?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Would you please provide a link to your lost account?
The only chance left to you is to prove the ownership of your account by signing a message from an old btc address that you had posted before or sent in a pm.
Follow the instructions as mentioned here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0
If you don't know how to sign a message related to a btc address then check this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0
