But looking at the recent slump and disappearing ICO market, I am having doubts.

I think you still can start that thing now. I believe this isn't the end of cryptocurrency.
It's journey is still long way to go, So starting to work on cryptocurrency is the sooner the better.

Crypto is indeed being in bad condition. but the road and the future of crypto is still long. be a part of blockchain or other crypto section will still be things that produce. Moreover, in these conditions, if it wants to enter in the crypto certainly become a good beginning because this is a starting point that matches to follow.

the current destruction did indeed make everyone feel fear and doubt that this was involved in the field of cryptocurency,it's just that we ourselves will not understand what the future be like cryptocurency..
indeed it is in a bad time, but for the next year we cannot predict what the fate of cryptocurency will be, automatically there are 2 possibilities of up or down..
for me personally it's better to pause and wait for next year we will see the fate of cryptocurency..

Serioulsy though I think that is a great idea as companies will still push forward withthis technology no matter what the wider marketplace is doing. I think you will set up a good career for the future this way.

Blockchain developers are the most sought after job in tech and not relating to cryptocurrencies  eg in chain supply, medicine, banking etc because getting an experienced and highly skilled developers is not easy to come by thus you can use this available opportunity to become one, you can visit technical section of the forum there are available links to valuable information leading to becoming a developer.

You can try but the chance that you will leave in plus is not so high. The market seems to be in ruins right now, and I wouldn't risk everything I have right now and try to find another job.

I think that when people choose his profession they should look at three factors:
- they should like doing things which are required in this field;
- there should be a smaller than in average amount of candidates and bigger amount of job proposals in that profession;
- it should not be a short-term decision, the chosen profession should survive for at least next 100 years.
Second and third factors are good for Blockchain developer, but you should be sure about the first.

The market crash has nothing to do with starting a career in block chain. I think having a career as a developer pays well in crypto space, since there are over hundreds of altcoins that are existing and more and more are created as time goes by.
