It might be true that what people are choosing is their gamble with their lives, but I don't think that in that every turn, it is gambling most of them are inevitable to happen.

When you go to school, that is inevitable since it is a common activity as a child, you must go to school. Studying, planning your career and building your own future, that is inevitable since there will be a lot of things that will happen that will push yourself to do things that will be valuable to you in the future. You work hard, it is inevitable that something will happen either you will be promoted or you will be fired.

Choosing a spouse is not something most people do in 10 seconds or minutes, they dedicate time and energy to it.
Choosing a school - yes, it's a little bit more risky, but most parents tend to read and hear reviews and in the worse case they can always change their decision later on.
Choosing a boos is similar to school, in our era changing a job has become something extremely normal.

It's different to the gambling I know, all of the above mention are less risky compared to risking your money to grow by gambling.

Gambling and the gambling that you are saying is the same and different at the same time. It is true that they are gambling, we are gambling every time in our life but that gambling and the gambling we do in casinos is different in the terms of the risks that we take. Yes this is right that everything we do in life is actually a gamble. But that happens for the things that we are doing for the first time and if we are already used to that thing it becomes part of our daily routine which isn't a gamble to us anymore.

OP - What you have compared is the personal life stuff with the gambling. Gambling is for fun and does not necessarily be life long but the rest of the things is your life long like wise/husband, kids etc. You can opt not to gamble you money in casinos but to have a good life it always better to have a complete family. Addiction to gambling is worst but to the family and your kids etc is great.

I do not agree. In gambling the results of our actions will be seen instantly / in a relatively short time. Gambling doesn't require hard effort and it will be like that from time to time. Luck is the only thing that will influence the end result of our habits. Whereas all the examples that you give; chossing wife/husband, studying, working, will require our hard effort if we want to do it correctly. The result will rely on how hard we try, not just because of luck.

Gambling can be addicted if there is not protection over the gambler.

The main problem is having nothing better to do and turning gambling into some sort of hobby. That was the reason for me, I have literally nothing to do after work and even during work so I get bored and gambling is so easy that when you have the money sent to a casino or dice or sportsbook in a minute and start gambling it becomes one of those fun things you do to get away from your life.

My life was incredibly boring (well it still is but thankfully I stopped gambling like an addict) and I just ran away to gambling in order to have some fun. When you lack things to do in your life and you start gambling it kinda feels a hole in your life and you get addicted to it because you have nothing else to do. That could be a big reason for many people not just me.

Although we can find many things in our lives as gambling but I don't think if choosing a school is gambling, because gambling is basically both parties who have different destinies, such as someone who benefits and someone who is disadvantaged. In choosing a school that can receive profits and losses, only one individual i.e he who registers. Choosing a school is complicated, but it's not gambling. e.g
If you choose the right school, then you are lucky / benefited.
If you choose a school that is not suitable for you, then you are the loser.
So in this case the one who receives the profits and losses is only one individual and the school does not.

Lol!! These are called informed gambling and not based on pure luck! It involves a lot of information research before we actually take a decision on choosing a husband and wife or school or a boss!

The gambling is based on pure luck in majority of the cases. So the examples you've cited here, doesn't really hold its ground.

Like the others, they are addicted to gambling because they want to get a lot of money quickly. And usually those gambling addicts have felt victory at the beginning of their gambling, and that made them forget themselves and addicted to continuing to gamble.

Mostly people that don't have a lot of money and need more, who also don't know that all games are against them (house edge). I have known some gambling addicts in my life, and a good portion of the people that I knew fit this category. Some people also don't have the mental willpower to stop gambling, which makes gambling a difficult thing to get out of unless someone is able to secure help for the person in question who is addicted to gambling.

At the same time, gambling can also be a perfectly good source of entertainment if you exercise the right precautions to ensure you aren't spending more than you can afford. I personally do this, and I'm not addicted to gambling at all, but I still do gamble quite often with the money I can afford to spend.
