I constantly here people say " Only invest what you can afford to lose" Well no matter where your wealth is it could crash.
-Invest in USD- USA could collapse and experience mass inflation making your dollars nearly worthless -Invest in Bonds- Government could collapse making your bonds worthless -Invest in real estate- Housing prices could crash, natural disaster could hit and insurance company could go bankrupt -Invest in metals- prices could crash, asteroid mining could collapse prices
Your money is never 100% safe no matter where it is invested.

When we call something as investment it is never 100% safe.Even from the wikipedia the meaning of investment says buying some asset with the idae that the price of that asset will increase in the future so we can sell them at high price to make profits.
But not all the predictions by the people will come true so investment is also called risking our money to make more money.

As you wrote - all this is an investment and you can lose on every investment. They differ is mainly in the level of risk and a possible profit, and of course subject. So words "Only invest what you can afford to lose" relate to each of the investments listed by you. To be honest, I would like to know the investment without risk..

Before investing, you must know the risks are always there. But from that choice, the risk of investing in real estate is smaller than others. Because housing in my country is needed. So prices will rise very quickly every year.

Don't call the real estate is less risky because it is highly risk to invest on low valued land with the hope of price will increase in the future,if not the land value is low you won't get much in return. And also the another risk in the modern world on investing on lands is some of the places suddenly gets floods or heavy drought which could ends up our land value to none.

It's actually a very good point, I have never thought of it that way before but it makes a lot of sense. You should always consider where your money/wealth is and the risks associated with that.

The rule is true for all of the spheres that you mentioned. These are investments and they involve risks. However, there are also purchases that might rutn out differently. One needs to have money to pay the bills and/or the rent. Food, transportation and some minimum healthcare is also worth something. If a person wastes this money on bad investments - now, this is when the rule is broken, because one should not afford to lose the means to satisfy the basic needs. Apart from that, you can always invest in your education or in travelling, which might be more important and have greater impact on your life than metals or real estate market.

We all are sure about money is never 100% safe no matter where it is invested. But everyhing IS NOT an investment. That's why the term risk-earning ratio is used in order to determine safety of an investment. Before investing in an asset, you must foresee the risks and possible profit that you may gain. If you are not sure one of them, this investment turns into a gambling game. We can't describe everything we put money in as an investment. There are so many people put their money in without knowing price determinative parameters of cryptos and measuring risks factors. Thus, all I can say is good luck for you, if you think so.

Everything technically is a risk. Even if you own a basket of every asset and fiat currencies from the strongest economies in the world, there isn't a way to rule out that you might lose everything one day.
You need to look at the very basics, what has value if everything else we think has value right now stops having value?
Real estate; we all need a roof over our head, and you might accumulate passive income by allowing others to rent that what you don't directly need. Food; we all need to eat. Weapons; we all need to protect our family and the few things of value left that we own. Gold; it has proven to hold strength for thousands of years as medium of exchange.
I probably forgot to list a few other things, but you get the idea. The very basics, that's what people will revert to when everything else implodes.

Its because when you're 'Investing', its supposed to be endeavor with the expectation of obtaining an additional income or profit. But it has its downside as well. Your money is never 100% safe no matter where it is invested.
However, we should always remember that there is a risk involved in every money or capital we have invested. Its no guarantee that you will get your money 100% or more, its a bitter pill to swallow specially for newbie investor.

Every investment has its risks, but some are riskier than others. Thinking this way we are also never safe in life: an accident can happen any time and kill us, doesn't matter where you are or what you are doing... It's very dangerous to start thinking this way, because it leads the person to fear every step in life, consequently the individual will have difficult to make even simple decisions and thrive.

yes this is correct. all activities that we do in the crypto world are investments in the long run. because this currency is a trading commodity that we can sell at any time when we need money. and crypto currencies are not the money we use to transact like conventional money. so crypto currencies are more like stocks in general and are more suitable for investment.

yes, everyone has the risk of each. and in this crypto investment, the most prominent is its fluctuating price of crypto. so I think there is no problem if someone invests in crypto, because other investments also have the same level of risk.

You're absolutely right. But obviously, the saying is still absolutely valid. It's all about the risk and the reward in my opinion. An asset class like fiat cash would obviously be quite stable in the short run, but its value would drastically depreciate in the long run given the inflationary nature of the currency supply. Same with bitcoin - in the long run, I wouldn't doubt that it's a store of value given its capped supply, but in the short term, there is risk that prices will go down due to a bear market. Everything and anything have monetary risks and can appreciate and depreciate. What matters in terms of finance and investing is diversification of these risks in one's portfolio, in my opinion, unless you're absolutely certain that one asset class will outperform the rest, which I believe is pretty much impossible.

Indeed, in fact, any investment in its form must have its own risks, and so to determine the success and profitability of our investment depends on how we manage it. About people who say "Only invest what you can afford to lose" I suggest not to invest, because your first thought was wrong so I'm sure it will waste your time, we invest in profits so we have to be able to handle or minimize the risks in our investment, to invest we must do it seriously.

One of those are not like the other. Housing market could crash but it would affect you only if you are renting out an extra house or something. If you do not own a house and you buy a house even if at a steep price it is still an investment that you own a house now, having a house is not like any other investment in the sense that you basically live in it and you need it more then anything else.
You need food but you can't technically invest in food, you need cash for that and you can "invest" in cash which sounds silly so basically only investment you can do that is absolutely must is a house. I for one live a very frugal and poor life but at least I own my house and will never have to worry about housing ever again. That freedom gives you amazing flexibility in any other investment you can make.

That's correct. Even money by itself is not safe (best example: Venezuela). But on each investment there is the risk factor. The bigger the risk, the bigger the chance the investment will fail. Just usually with the risk comes also the potential return. And then here comes the diversifying to spread the risk and keep the potential return as high as possible.

When we say investment, it means risk is in there for sure. Now the question is, are you ready to take the risk? Because you are going to use money in the investment whether traditional or online business. But all investment schemes has a capability to give us profit if we do it properly and right system as well in my point of view.

Yes, all investment products have no market space now. There is only cryptocurrency in the real market space. But cryptocurrencies won't make money for everyone, and whales need to eat small fish to survive.

I would personally not classify everything as an investment. I could buy a house or piece of property for my own personal use without expecting any return on investment.
Taking a practical approach, in ecmvery investment there is different grades if risks involved and this should determine how much you put in.
A natural disaster is less likely to happen (in my part of the world) than for bitcoins' price to crash.
