Im a self confessed newb in cryptocurrency, only been around it since the Bitcoin boom in November.
I remember checking out the http://coinmarketcap.com/ site back then and there were around 50 coins. At present there are 152 present on that site (there are a lot others that haven't made it to the site yet as well)

A lot of the coins are a lot of rubbish BAT, CAT, PANDA, KITTE, FLAPPY, MOON and GRUMPY to name but a handful.
What are the point of most of these coins? To make money for the developers and early buyers most probably.
Some coins have been created for specific purposes. BITCOIN is the classic success story everyone is obv trying to emulate.
AURORA is setup on behalf of the people of Iceland, trying to kick start a public revolution in the way a single country uses currency as a unit of exchange.
SEXCOIN well kind of speaks for itself, supposedly in the future you should be able to make payments with this specific coin for chatlines, to watch porn etc...
MAZACOIN purposely for use within the Native American Indian reservations.
APPLECOIN for the future purchasing of apples and other fruit (no just joking around on this one haha)
You get the drift....

This leads me onto the my main reasoning for the title.
In the USA today there are currently 20 states that the use of marijuana for medical purposes is legal.
http://medicalmarijuana.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000881

This number has multiplied fourfold in only 1 year, with more states lining up suit as well.
Also the US is a world leader in many topics, realistically this being said I believe an number of countries around the world will follow Americas lead and legalize withing there own country.
When and if this does happen, cryptocurrency will be well established by this point in time (and im looking at the next 12 months parsay).
Not only will you be able to pay using normal fiat currency but in essence make payment using crypto purposely built for that industry, hence POTCOIN comes into its own.
I can see this marijuana related coin becoming realized very quickly as more people come onto the scene and understand what a great opportunity to get in early on this one.
Even in writing this post I would go out on a limb and say that within about 2 weeks POTCOIN will be well above its current market place position of 57th.

POTCOIN available to buy at www.allcoin.com

Wonderful a coin for buying weed. But don't you actually need dispensaries accepting this coin, just to say this is what is for is meaningless, now if you actually had places accepting this as payment then this coin might be on to something.

Why would i pay with potcoin when i can pay with bitcoin? Not saying it would be super cool but bitcoin is more acceccible.
I need to buy btc first and then switch my btc to potcoin whilst i can just buy it with bitcoin

Bitcoin is slow as Hell.  The only reason it's the top crypto is since it was the first.  If it was released today with the same formula it would completely fail.  Many cryptocurrencies will most likely be used for various things and cryptocurrencies like Potcoin MAY actually be used exclusively for Pot.

Part of it is the gimmick factor, but I don't see why are cannabis merchant cannot accept both?  A cannabis merchant can get community attention if they accept something like Potcoin and it drives extra money to their business.  All they have to do is accept another payment form for their products/services and they get free advertising, so why not? Just accepting Bitcoin gives them more attention, but you have a pro-marijuana community behind Potcoin, and the Potcoin community will promote basically any business that uses the coin.  It's a win-win for everyone.

I do hope something better will eventually replace Bitcoin though in due time.  No one knows though.

Already moved up 10 places to 47th in market cap placings.
Shouldnt look into this toooo much as a lot of the coins around this position have similar prices
But thought  i should highlight this as a 10 place jump in 12 hours gets people looking.

Well i am not a noob to crypto, and looks likeyou gained yourself a large load of people not liking your comments.

do you know what it takes to make support, and dev a coin?  If i was Bat, cat, panada, kitte, flappy, moon, grumpy devs I'd be pissed at you.

Do you have holdings in your favo coins? aur sex maz appl pot? like lol, you really named all these coins backwards, I dont see aura coin going anywhere but down in value, maza perhaps not because it's already slightly undervalue.  But one coin you crapped on specifically is FLAPPY.

and Flappy i see a future for at least in trade profits.  Nobody has really even suggested what alts are really for or why they were developed.  The signs are there for FLAP gonna be a pump coin soon.

To bad you completely do not know what you are talking about.

@ gnomegawd

oh goodness iv pissed of the crap named coins developers!!!! (noblyknees)

also.... i never said that; AURORA, SEXCOIN and MAZACOIN were my favourites OR that i had holdings in them either (i dont), i was merely giving others a comparative likeness to the usefulness that POTCOIN may and probably will have in the future.

dont you think that POTCOIN is a classic example of naming a coin after the community in which it hopes to thrive within?

hey, well i watched a few 420 pot, weed coins come and go.  I do actually believe that this coin is a solid stay coin.  I just dont like saying shit about other coins, I like to support all the coins regardless.  I support galaxy coin go figure.

I still dunno wtf your issue is.. "crap named coins" like< um?

all coins are good, some are even better mechanically than others, some fork a lot some have to much production, all kinds of things go on, however; I am not here to debate which is better.  Only to point out what I said earlier in this post, that POTCOIN is the only coins of the weed / 420 coins that looks to have a significant future.
