The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

I think private keys are deleted but you just need to use the recovery seed or mnemonic to recover your crypto on another wallet. if you forget your mnemonic then you're in trouble.

The only details I can find on this "self destruct" mechanism are these quotes:
according to Cobo’s cofounder and chief technology officer, Jiang Changhao, the Vault will begin a “self-destruct process” (it wipes itself clean) as soon as the device’s outer shell has been pulled open.
Changhao disclosed that it means the device will commence wiping its content the second it detects that its outer shell has been pulled off.
This is pretty much the same as a Ledger Nano S wiping itself if the wrong PIN is entered 3 times... just using a different trigger (case being physically opened).

If the cobo vault self-destructs, can i still get my funds back?
Given that the Cobo Vault comes with a "cryptosteel"-like backup tool to store your seed mnemonic and the fact that they say it is BIP32/39/44 compliant, then even if the device wipes itself, you should be able to restore your wallet by using your mnemonic backup to another Cobo or BIP39 compatible wallet and recover your funds.
A custom-made metal tablet for you to store your mnemonic phrase is included
