I think there is a need in having some sort of marketplace of any kind that will have no owners basically..
Picture a marketplace that is like eBay/Amazon but has no physical owners instead is built by people for people through crowdfunding. Is that achievable?
I guess it could, right?

ohh you mean having no central control? yeaahh, I think there's already lots of decentralized markets out there, tho I am not that familiar with them (just google Wink ). Openbazaar is probably the most well known among them.

Yes there's already existing marketplace like that and I think this forum is a perfect example for having that type of marketplace that has no owners but has a lot of competitors.

Check and see Goods and its childboards.

I was focused on decentralized markets for some time and yes, there're many of them indeed Smiley I'd single out ModulTrade, it's fine with me.

I found recently this article ( https://www.decentpropaganda.com/virternitys-distributed-exchange-network-could-put-crypto-exchanges-out-of-business/ ) and it's more or less what i was talking about.. a marketplace with no owners.. a trading place for more currencies.
What do you think about it?

I think it is not a good idea. We need somebody who will control platform: make updates, register new accounts, block cheaters ect. How will you give back money if you will have bad deliver?

it could be self-moderated, for example. everything depends on users' activity that way, and they'd be able to regulate the platform by votings or smth like this.

I think you're talking about Virie, which is about everything you just described. When you use Virie, you don’t need to disclose your identity or the purpose of the payments; you can transfer any sum without providing anyone with any data, or original or copied documents; since the system cannot freeze an account, nobody can ask for documents (such as ID) to release the funds. There's more information on their website https://virternity.com/virie, though it may not be enough for some people because crowdfunding is still going. Isn't it?

Wouldn't this kind of market be used for negative aspects of block chain and crypto currency? What about money laundry that has been talked about frequently? Every situation, such as this brings the worse in people and there will always be the ones that will be trying to take an advantage of the situation. Some kind of control in the form of rules and regulations must exist.

There is already something like that and the name is OpenBazaar–openbazaar.org. And I don’t see any need for building more of that cause this one is already a good one, a decentralized commerce online, no middlemen and there is no fees attached.

One good thing about this site is that unlike Amazon, eBay and other similar sites, you don’t have to give out any information to make use of it, you only give information to the person doing buying and selling with, and there isn’t much you’re going to give since you’re doing the business with Bitcoin.

And the same goes for guns, bitcoin and every other form of money. Do we have to get rid of them everytime they brought the worse in ppl? 🤔🤔🤔

I'm not sure about the other decentralized marketplaces but there's an optional multi-sig escrow in openbazaar which you can use.

Also, there are still devs who works on the software in order for users to have a seamless experience but as I said, they do not have any central control. They can't block those cheaters you spoke of which is why users are required to be responsible in every clicks they make.
