I've gone through about 18 different tutorials which all have basically the same steps and I can't get connected to the Antminer S1 WRT login screen. By the tutorials, it seems to be very similar to setting up an Avalon Mini which I have done in the past, but I can't for the life of me make this happen.

The Antminer was shipped with a piece of paper that has a different IP address than the sticker on the back of the unit, and neither of the IP addresses are working when connected to the router or the computer (tried a couple computers too).

I did try the reset button as well, holding it down for about 20s and still can't get connected to the unit.

The power supply is jumpered and the unit is receiving power.

Any ideas?

log into your router using 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1, have a look at all the devices on your network and see what the address of the unnamed device connected then type that into a new browser window and it should work. mine was 192.168.1.100 and it re-routed to 192.168.1.99 but it didnt work when i typed 192.168.1.99

the unit is probably fine and you just need to figure out the address of it.

What is the IP address on the Ant?

If it is: 192.168.1.99

Set you PC/Laptop IPv4 settings to:

Broadcast: 192.168.1.254
Subnet: 255.255.255.0 <- this is set automatically once you click on it
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Then open your browser and go to: http://192.168.1.99

That should get you to see the Ants Luci interface

EDIT: Do you have physical connection to the Ant or wireless?

+1  I had the same issue as you and this solved it for me.  Doing the tutorial, I must have reset my ip for the thing somewhere along the line.
On my other antminer I don't believe I did the whole tutorial connecting business, and my ip worked fine out of the box.

Thank you guys, I have successfully logged into the Antminer and updated the CGminer settings.

I changed the WAN settings according to a tutorial on bitcointalk.org and moved the ethernet cable from the computer to the router. At this point I could not access the Antminer anymore until plugging back into the computer, so my WAN settings on the Antminer must be wrong?

I managed to get it mining via wifi, even though there is no antenna attached. The S1 is within 2' of the router. I can't figure out the WAN settings still for using an ethernet cable, but at least it's partially working.

All my Ants mine wireless.
To be honest I haven't managed to get them to mine through LAN but I don't care, the router is next to them  Grin

I don't know if there is a tutorial about it but I have set all my Ants to mine wireless from:
Network - WiFi - Scan and set the network with your password.
Then on interfaces create a new one and use the new connection you have just created.
Click connect if it didn't already and enjoy Smiley

EDIT: USE DHCP on your new interface not static IP
