Other

- Ross Pearson was expected to face Joseph Duffy at the event. However, Pearson announced on November 7 that he was out of the bout due to a broken nose and subsequent surgery to correct the injury. Pearson was replaced by promotional newcomer Damir Ismagulov on November 18. Subsequently, Duffy pulled out of the fight, citing a rib injury. UFC newcomer, Alex Gorgees, replaced Duffy on November 21 and will now face Ismagulov.

- Ashkan Mokhtarian was scheduled to face promotional newcomer Kai Kara-France at the event. However on November 20, Mokhtarian pulled out of the fight citing injury. He was replaced by another newcomer Elias Garcia on November 23.

I would surely make my bet on the most experienced fighter with 19-5 records my bet will definitely go with Junior dos Santos, I usually tend to make a bet with the most experienced fighter, But surely we can never predict the outcome of the match and as Tai Tuivasa was younger than Dos Santos he can sure have an upper hand because he still has the strength and stamina and if he had the skill to sure lure Dos Santos to the corner he might even have this match, Well actually I don't have any insights about Tai Tuivasa so I am just relying my judgment on the most experienced one base on the number of fights they have.

^  Dunno...  It feels like Dos Santos is gonna lose this one after winning the last one.  Lol.  After his shot vs Miocic (who was then the champ), I don't think we'll see Dos Santos within the top three anymore.

He's done like Rua and should be content still fighting in the UFC.

Meh...  Both fighters I said that were 'done' won their bouts spectacularly via TKO.  Lawl.  Good to see them win.  I think Dos Santos actually has a chance to fight somebody in the top 5 and be in title contention again.

An interesting fact: only 1 Australian fighter out of 6 that competed in the main event managed to win his fight. A coincidence, or maybe Australians aren't doing that good in MMA?
As for the fight, you could see that Tuivasa was punching the air most of the time aiming in the general direction of his opponent, while Dos Santos was aiming at the chin. His punches were less random, better aimed. The experience difference was huge, but you can say that it comes with age. Tuivasa is still young and hasn't fought opponents from the top of the list.

He last won March 2017, that was 1 year and 9 months ago, he lost on his last fight with Anthony "Lionheart" Smith  last July 22, 2018 at also at UFC Fight Night. This is actually Mauricio Rua's 3rd straight appearance at a UFC Fight Night event. He won 2 of the 3 events.

Was rooting for the super samoan there but i'm happy for shogun and jds. Though i'm not sure they have what it takes anymore to climb to the top of their divisions. Mma fighters have evolved from back when these two were champs.

^  Yup.  They're prolly just milking whatever they can out of their contracts.  Lol.  It would be nice to see a Dos Santos vs Overeem rematch tho.  That could bring the winner back to either be in a bout vs a top 5 HW fighter or be in title contention again.
