Ok so I have a temporary solution for you.
Use Google Chrome and access the imgur site. Right click on the picture and click on 'copy link' which is:
https://i.imgur.com/U9JgXGb.jpg
instead of https://imgur.com/U9JgXGb

Then copy it between img tags




[.img]https://i.imgur.com/U9JgXGb.jpg[./img]
(remove dots)
