The key reason for gambling

I realize this question was probably raised before, but I believe that the answers might be changing with time, because bitcointalk community grows and because the interests and needs of people can become different in years. I recall a video on addiction that explained that people mainly become addicted because of feeling sad and lonely. When I made a thread about whether gamblers think that gambling addiction has the same reason, the answers differed a lot. Now I am curious what kind of people are gambling here. Are they mainly looking for money, excitement, socialization? Please vote and leave a comment below in case you want to add something to your answer.

I personally think it's money and also the excitement of gambling and the rush of winning money; the former is a big part of why I gamble, mainly for the rush of gambling that I don't often get anywhere else. I do obviously want to make money as well, but I don't ever gamble more than I can afford. I've been doing this method of gambling since I got into cryptocurrency in late 2014-early 2015, and this system has worked for me since then.

I've noticed something else in this thread as well- it seems you can only click on one response in the poll. Is this a limitation of the forum, or is there a way to configure this so that more options can be chosen at once?

I voted to earn money because as a gambler myself, that's the reason why i'm playing and not because of entertainment or anything. I wanted to have a big money in a short period of time and gambling can fulfill that even the chances are slim. Once you decided to play, big or small delosit, your aim is to win and not because you are seeking fun or whatsoever.

Good suggestion, I also want to suggest OP to add "spending spare time/having fun/entertainment" although most people gamble for money but I myself gamble for spending spare time as well as spare money obviously and I believe I'm not the only one who gamble just for fun. Or maybe having fun is something which is considered as "its just a habit"?

It is very relevant option which can be added as generally gambling is all about the luck in majority of the games and people try their luck if they can win big or not. Hope they can control them self and if they lose will move away and  not continue for longer time else will lose more rather than winning it.

If I could vote 2 I would choose 2 option and I think for me in the way that I gamble I would choose first is I just want to try my luck, I surely gamble from time to time is to just try my luck, I am not a competitive gambler and I am just a casual gambler It means for me gambling is just one of many forms of recreational activities and I have a variety of other hobbies and interests,

And the second that I choose which for me is never that important and there is a thinking that gambling has a risk involved in it is for the sake of money, And yes I really think that most gamblers will sure consider the money they can take home, All gamblers will think that way, But I just choose this as a second option or just a bonus when I try my luck.

Thanks for your feedback, I did not think that people mainly gambled to earn money. I mean, it makes sense that people want to increase income, but I thought is was pretty obvious that the majority of people loses money in this field and only a couple of games even allow theoretically to have regular income.

I added both of the options, thanks for suggestions. Well, I guess it could be considered a part of the habit, but it still deserves to be a separate option, because when I wrote 'habit' I meant something people do on regular basis without getting anything positive out of it, while if people gamble during free time, they probably feel like there's something pleasant in it for them.

Habit are something we used to do it in daily basis as you said,only the gamblers who cam here for money or they consider this as job will have the habit of gambling everyday but as hobby we like to do it for somethings like getting patience or spending our free time on it.But more people coming into gambling for making money with trying their luck.

Most of the time it's because of winning money even they just said it's only for fun or to spend free time but mostly that's the main reason, you're betting money so you desire money as well.
And yes, there are times I only try my luck for just penny to gamble with and not expecting with a bigger win or so but the end of the day even I win there's still times I got bad luck in personal life lmao.

The amounts I gamble aren't going to break the bank.  I see gambling as a fun side hobby and it makes sports a lot more exciting.  Matches have become kind of boring unless I have money riding on a game.  I suspect most people are just after easy money but I have a good time even if I lose.

Trying my luck with small amount to fetch decent amount. I'm not addicted and I'm not a professional gambler but I enjoy as well while I'm trying out my luck. There's no need to go further with that and the amount of money that I'll gamble is limited.

First I did gambling to get money, but as time went by I did not find satisfaction when getting money and then used as a tool to gamble again. Finally, I thought gambling could not be used as a place to get money passively, sometimes I could get a lot of money but too much I had to spend a lot of money because I was hooked to continue making bets. Because it was considered unnatural, I had paused to gamble and lead a normal life. But the habits that have occurred some time ago I cannot forget, I finally gambled again on the grounds that I wanted to satisfy my passions to make me happy.

The common reasons would be to earn money and only handful of people who are clever would enjoy the time and entertain them self. As this would not stress them even if they lose money would consider it fine as a entertainment fees or something like that but same case if people who want to make money from the gambling start losing their stress level also start increasing.

For us is to try our luck, try new games. we always have a fixed Budget to play with every month, we never play for more than we can accept to loose.

It is to try my luck to earn money but I do it only on my free times with the small money that I can afford to lose. It is very enjoyable when the lucky day has come but at the other days, it will be so sad when the luck doesn't come. As long as I don't ruin my financial, gambling as I hope won't make me crazy to chase huge amount of money, I will keep doing it.

The main factor in gambling is of course because of money, they gamble with the aim of earning large amounts of money in a short time. Despite the fact of the defeat they get from gambling, yes maybe there are also those who gamble because of hobbies only or just want to find new friends or business relations.

Everyone is different, but I'm sure most of the main reasons for gambling are looking for profit or money. This is because gambling can generate profits easily and in large numbers, making many people are gambling. I personally gambled to make a profit, but I was still within reasonable limits so I did not become addicted.

Well with your choices, it could either be one or all. I'm pretty sure most gamblers have several reasons why they spend time and money on the betting table. Curiosity, the wants and needs for essy money, the excitement, you could add a whole lot more reasons for a gambler.
