Almost every casino or Dice site already have the chat for community to connect.

I'm thinking about creating the chat functionality from scratch in order to provide other companies that don't know how to start with it.
Therefore, I'd be very grateful if your could tell me your opinion on what functionalities the chat in gambling site should have and why?

Instead of developing a script from the scratch, if I were you then I would use a ready-made one first. I would the customize the existing one to meet my needs. Hope it helps.

I’d highly recommend you add in a tab to use emojis in the chat box of your casino. Emojis are a great way for chatters to convey emotion, and I like to use them whenever possible, especially when I’m trying to do something for entertainment like in gambling. I don’t use the chat box of casinos often, but it’s always interesting to speak to other people online and talk about their experiences on the site.

These unfortunately have a monthly fee. Here's an example: Price: premium plans start at $16/month. I'm pretty sure that people would prefer a one-time payment. That doesn't mean that some of them aren't much cheaper and better than what you or me could develop, so I think they might be worth it if you're running a business.

Not a bad idea, since the most popular sites like PD, fortunejack, and Stake, are using the same plain and boring chat.
OP, take a look at yolodice chat. It allows you to see small avatars of people next to their names and they allow you to quickly check their stats. You can also see the person's level as stare next to their name.
Don't waste your time though. It would be better if you contacted the casinos first and make sure they are willing to pay for an upgrade.

If OP can afford such thing then why not? If he do tends to develop script or using up ready made ones then its his choice but I agree on what you said which if you are running a business then
consider this thing to be add up on the expense.

Having a Chat in gambling site is a must yet this would give out interaction or gateway for people to express or talk into other players.

For now I don't really use the chat feature in gambling for various reasons, but before I really liked it and always got new friends in chat and again like what was said above "to add emojis in chat rooms, I think this feature is available in some chats gambling room even though not all chat is not available, and yes it will also add color to the chat room, there are many functional rooms in the chat if active there, usually from their supporters, sometimes there is also a tip and giveaway which of course more interesting.

Adding emojis in the chat box can be another good advice because people want to express their feeling in the chat. Perhaps, activating private chat for each member will be a good suggestion too because they can share something privately. But I guess that you can find more functionalities in the admin chat setting, or you can modify from the source. But you need to try by yourself to use the chat box, so you know what more to be added in the chat box.

Hey in my advice you should visit popular sites, and see what their chats have,and what they don't have that can work as your usp when you intend to sell it. In my personal opinion a chat should have a colourful background, colourful font just enough for all to read with ease. Then I would love to see stickers, gifs, emojis that are gambling related, but not sure if all gambling sites will agree to host such a chat box so I would suggest you to speak with some site owners too.

What should be used instead of emoji's is maybe special character instead like a ASCII heart or BTC symbol.

The chat in every casino that supports it has all the above mentioned features but I think the feature which is not massive in these casinos is the one where the administration promote their hourly, daily and weekly bonuses plus loyalty bonuses. This way players will be motivated to come back and play in such casino because they feel they are appreciated.

IMO must have features in chat are:
1. Tip/rain : this will let players to tip or make rain to other players when someone is willing to share his profit to others.
2. Multi languages room to allow players to communicate with their local language.
3. RainBot to give active users in chat with small reward.

Maybe those three features that I like most, there are some other features. So I think you need to go to other casinos to check what other casinos have on their chatbox.

Moderation can always make up for spam, and having something basic like the emotes we have on Bitcointalk could be a sort of compromise. Most casinos with chatboxes and chatrooms already have decent moderation, so spam shouldn't be an issue, and you can also always add a filter so people can't post more than a few emojis in a row.

Chatboxes/rooms for different languages should be another option you consider adding. Having multiple different languages in one room isn't ideal, but having only English allowed cuts down on moderation costs as you'll need moderators that speak different languages then.

Using chatbox of every casinos are strategy to convince people to play casinos
Sharing ideas and communications are best way to convince people to put betting in gambling
Because they can get tips and ideas but i still believe is still under control by the owner whos gonna get win

Waiger requirements is honestly not totally my suggestion but consideration. Im more of minimum balance requirement but not much.

Chat moderators are not present all the time. Trolls are everywhere. If newbies want to asked some question, then there should be a certain requirement before they can participate in the trollbox or "for the meantime" they can used the chatbox function between support and users just like other sites does have. In that way, things will be sort out.

Anyways that suggestion isn't really a mandatory for me until that gambling site will have lots of users. Chat moderators should able to handle an average numbers of users on their early phase.

Most important feature for sure: "Rain" to distribute coins among active players on the chat or between players who want to reward themselves.

Plus, easy command to add gifs and videos from Youtube (with the option of hidding this for players who are too systematic, this way everyone will be happy).

Probably, you could collectively have a poll or something in the chatbox then to the users/members of the site could cast their vote, and of course, they are going to risk some bitcoin with it. It's just a collective or group together. You could make it so that people could form groups and debate with each other. Some trivia questions, I guess, could work too with it.

This reminds me of rollin's chatbot they had different kinds of mini game(hi lo, lottery etc) on their chat every few minutes with a reward of 1mbtc. Their chat games had a level requirement though which made me wager more just to join the fun. It's a good suggestion but not necessary where it's a must have for a chat box.

The rain feature only acts like a faucet though the tip feature is much more important tbh since it allows you to exchange funds without having to spend fees.
