Indeed you have correctly understood the usage of bitcoins, one should always hodl it for the long term rather than be effected by short term fluctuations and then indulge in panic sales. I feel we will see an increase in bitcoins prices soon in q1 as there're three major events to watch out for i.e. Bitcoins Nasdaq Futures, launch of Bakkt and the most likely approval of Bitcoins etf by sec.
