is he really a smart guy talking from the experience or he's just another John McAfee.
I see Mr. Hayes has been making so many predictions over a couple of months and none of them seems to be right.

If you've been on crypto for far too long, you'll realize that not all noise are necessary. Heck, noise-signal ratio given off by these so-called crypto market analysts is so high that we rarely see a prediction coming right off the bat. If you yourself don't think that Hayes won't give you anything good for your position, why continue listening to him? Researching on your own is way better than listening to some other people after all.

He's most probably a very smart man given his success, so is John McAfee, that doesn't mean either of them are good when it comes to predictions.

I am just reading what the experts say so what they say is only possibility for a market that was created 10 years ago. Choose the side that will help you from what they say but it is your decision if you want to apply. I think you should just go on with your own mistakes so that should be a lesson for you.

he should have some insight into the market given how large bitmex is---he can see trader commitments, order books/stop losses, account sizes. between running bitmex and being a big twitter influencer, it's no surprise people pay attention to what he says.

his call for $50k by the end of 2018 was obviously wrong, but his last bear prediction seems to be working out: he predicted a bearish resolution to the range market and expected $2000 to $3000. not too far off the mark, and there's still plenty of room for more decline.

If people are thinking logically, he's out to provide you with information that's meant to stirr up the market. One day he'll tell you to go left, the other day you'll be told to go right. He doesn't care what direction you'll follow as long as you place a bet on his platform, and you are more likely to do so during a volatile market.

Bitmex settles everything in BTC, so up or down means he still profits in BTC and that's all that matters. If you also take into consideration that the majority of the traders are always wrong, you know how much profit Bitmex is generating on a monthly basis. Their $5 million per year office is a glimpse of their wealth.

That's why we call it prediction and not fact. Predictions always have higher chance of failing and it's upto you to believe it or not. But to maintain the market activity we need speculators like him who has a decent fanbase and some influences.

Doesn't really matter if he is not correctly predicting. What matters is the market activity. Similar way to Mr. McAfee and Arthur, we need more influencers to keep up the lively vibes of the market. No matter what the outcome is, the activity matter! I am sure a day trader will feel the same as me! If you are just an investor, you may have a different feeling about it!

Just a quick Google search the moment you became curious about him will make you have an idea who he is.

But anyhow, whatever your view or others about him, at the end of the day, people is freely to decide if they will buy and follow his predictions or not. We are in crypto world so expect that some influencers, popular, artist, big names etc. or even just a passerby will make their predictions.

I don't even bother about McAfee's involvement in crypto because of what I said above. Him being talktative, even how bad and sh*t it to others gives crypto an exposure even by little. I feel sorry though for those people who got influenced by him joining some ICO. It's a must that before putting money on it, always do a self research about it.

like anybody else he too is advertising his own business. the more noise he makes the more people will hear him and find out about his business and because of that the will gain more customers and earn a lot more money.

what these people do is not called prediction, what they do is that they look at the ongoing trend and market sentiment and then throw out a number based on that.
for example if we are on the rise and money is coming in they call for $50k. it is not a guess, it is not a speculation nor a prediction and it has nothing to do with knowledge. they just see the trend and go with it. if we are on the drop side they call a low number which is equally worthless.

He is the CEO of bitmex, who else has a better judgement over bitcoin than the dude who owns the exchange that controls a lot of the volume in the market plus the first ever shorting that got famous in crypto world? I mean he may or may not be a smart person or maybe he is not very knowledgeable in crypto markets and he might be wrong in the predictions he make but comparing to other options who else would you listen? People here who are writing topics like "what would happen if bitcoin is 1 dollar overnight?" those people are not to be listened and they are trolls. Arthur Hayes at least is a big major player in crypto market and checks the market trends every single day which means he is involved with the market every single hour of every day. I would say that puts him over many people.
