Few weeks ago CEO of Bitmex Arthur Hayes said that Ethereum is useless coin with value under 100USD.

This is for overall markets including bitcoin-usd/bitcoin-eth, etc. Infrastractures for crypto's are starting to show its potential by 2019 and we just have to be patient and don't go short. Patience is what everyone needs that believes on this space.

neither of these two are happening.
1. the short term focused investors have been flushed in the initial stages when they dumped it from $1500 to below $1000 and then they have been getting flushed ever since. now that price is in 2 digits range it is the rest of the bag holders who are giving up and leaving this token.

2. nothing is going to stop these people! they will always want a way to raise money and they don't care if the token they are receiving (ETH) is worth $1500 or is worth $50. because in both cases they are receiving free money.

I'm not agree with you, the speculators were converting their money to the fiat and they will create another movement again in the future. But i agree with your second point. Only the serious project will get a lot of attention from the investors.

I'm not agree with you, the speculators were converting their money to the fiat and they will create another movement again in the future. But i agree with your second point. Only the serious project will get a lot of attention from the investors.

Let's hope that at least the serious projects get the attention they deserve - it's a shame to see so many good projects die

the only positive effect that a dump of ETH has is that it opens the eyes of many of the newcomers to the realities of altcoin market. unfortunately last year brought a lot of them in this market and majority of them believed that an unlimited supply altcoin can continue its rise!!! but the reality is that a coin that has no usage apart from being a ICO token platform and has a huge supply which doesn't have any cap can not do that for long.

We can clearly sees that number of useless ICOs started from last year to this year so it is a good thing to have the reputation but if the prices keeps falling it may also the investors as well which makes no future for the crypto currencies.

You speak of short term investors as if it is a negative thing. I do not think it would reduce their interest, it might actually increase given that they can buy again at a cheap price.

How is this related to the price of Eth (per USD) dropping? Regardless of price, fraudsters will always find a way.

a bear market appears, WHEN PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT AN ASSET IS LESS VALUED THAN IT ACTUALLY IS. So they get the coins on the exchanges, sell the coin at that very moment, DUMPING THE PRICES, and then buying back at lower prices. Result? you return those coins to the exchange and get the difference.

The exchanges AND BIG HOLDERS have HELPED BEARS TO DUMP THE MARKET. Exchanges have more coins than the amount of money they are valued. so, if everybody sold all ETH coins at high prices, the Exchanges would show up like insolvent and would put up a ponzi scheme on the market that would destroy it absolutely, like madoff's one.

So Exchanges had to solve that out, because in January the situation was difficult for them. Any bank, whose customers would want only 10% of the money in that bank, would collapse the bank, because banks only have 3-5% in money ready to be given away.

If you know that a market is full of manipulation, fake arguments about the "mass adoption" and very very certainty about laws, legislations and taxes, and that all will affect investors, you have a bear market.


BTW, a recent research showed that 97% of the investors questioned had lost money in 2018.

I believe that the market is being manipulated. I also believe that the price of Ethereum will return to $50-100 this time, but I don't think Ethereum is a worthless coin. Ethereum is only being abused by ICO to cause its own depreciation. But it will not disappear.

pump and dump altcoins never die just because their price drops below some arbitrary number. and we all know that ETH has been the biggest pump and dump altcoin of all times which means even if it drops down to $1 they will start pumping it again at some point.

the "bye bye" will occur after a couple of these pump and dumps where people truly give up on ETH and also when they see all the problems that it has piled on over the years!

strongly agree with your opinion about two POSITIVE EFFECTS. where all in the bounty campaign will do it well and the manager will work well so that the exchange will continue to run long term.

The thing is that ETH/BTC chart is in decline. And it rly pisses me off. Maybe I'll try to jump in BTC once chart returns to 0.03. but not sure
