If you haven't already sold your ALTs simply hold if your project is decent. If the project has no future sell and buy into a decent project. This is all you can do to recover your loss without putting in more money. It will probably take a couple of years to recover your loss!
Some ALTs will never recover from this crash!
It is an ugly situation!
Partially agree with you. But don't forget that the hold - this is not the only way out of this situation. If you leave all your coins in hold, then you get frozen funds, that is, you absolutely lose the opportunity to earn. But if you don't be lazy and learn how to trade, then you will get your reward. Trade makes it possible to earn always. Even if your coin has fallen in price, you can sell it in a minus and immediately earn on some other promising coin. Thus, in a relatively short period of time, you will not only return the money spent, but also earn it. Of course, this method is only suitable for those who decide to understand the trade and master this skill.

If there is no product driving the liquidity of altcoin i would not hold it because most altcoins are actually full of pumps and dumps. Most altcoins are now worth nothing and they are being delisted from exchanges from time to time. So sell any altcoin which has no solid project backing it and hold only the ones that has some product developed by the team to stabilize the token.

I have been holding some altcoins for around two years and would continue to hold. I am hoping that some of my altcoins would pump hard in near future.

Now gradually I began to see the projects from which I can exit with minimal losses, it makes me happy, but on the other hand, greed says that i need to wait.

or simple sell them and put the money into the only real legit longterm investiment with the best Payout Ratio and best earning for each dollar ... ... take the money and spend your wife , your girlfriend your mother or the girlfriend from your wife ""shhhh" or your wifes mother "if she is still hot" some fine dining and wear clean underwear on that evening. ^^ clearly best longterm investment

Not all the coins will recover. Those alts which has not active development will not recover even if the bullish market comes as they do not represent any value. It is better to sell them if they have some value and not wait until they become near to zero.

Two years now? Have you sold during 2017? or if not, why you haven't? if he didn't sell it in the last bull run, maybe he believe if the market wil always rising and thats the risk of hodling,, everyone must be ready if their portofolio decreasing if the market going down, just like in 2018 now its seems the market is getting better,, but always remember crypto market is unpredictable, so, be ready for all situations

Yeah, selling now will just be a foolish act. I have altcoins which are mostly erc-20 tokens built upon ethereum blockchain. I have put all of them to a single ethereum address which sits in my hard disk, i rarely open and check the amount f tokens are there to not get addicted in selling them. I will wait till 2021 and finally see them in 2021.

you are right, because sometimes some projects stop developing after one year they are in the crypto market. This will require a strategy from us which determines policies in investing in projects that continue to develop that will help us benefit.

if the coin you hold has no progress, you should try better in doing research on the coins that you will hold. because it should, the coins we hold are good, but if you can't do research, I suggest you to choose coins in the top 30 in coinmarketcap, this is very safe for you.

What you say is really true. I will also do the same if the altcoin that I hold does not increase, of course, will sell and move on altcoins that are indeed potential. Patience is certainly very patient, but if this continues, the situation is certainly what must be done.

Holding is a good strategy for waiting patiently for a coin to reach its full potentials on the market. However, not all altcoins are worth holding because some lacks the factors required for a coin to survive or become successful on the market. This is why investors must do an extensive research into the coin or project in order to ascertain its authenticity and capabilities of become successful before investing in them.

I can't deny that the situation We had it now is not good, where most of the trader communities are already suffered to their loss of coins. Where majority of the people here now are holding their tokens while they are facing the bear market season, in short they are bullish for awhile. Then holding our coins is now depend of how long you are going to hold it, just make sure you are doing something check it and update it from time to time.

If you think that all you can do is hold than you will never gain profit from crypto.
Have you tried researching trading strategies? There are so many things you can do to recover losses, minimize risk, and more.
The simplest way to recover losses is to buy more. For example, if you bought btc for $10,000 and it is now worth $5300, then just buy more. The average cost per btc you paid will go down and you will be positive balance much sooner. If you bought a shitcoin that's worth nothing, change it to btc, and buy back in to reduce your cost per coin.
Another method is to sell your coins for a loss and do buy low sell high day trading with set parameters. But btc when it dips 3%, immediately list it for 5% more, rinse and repeat.

Nice wat to earn few satoshis but this method of trading is not efficient for big amounts in my opinion. Buyback price can be unusual than normal market prices in liquid days. If some kind of news going to hit the markets then this will be a serious problem for the trader.

Maybe it can continue to hold the altcoin until 2020 to restore losses experienced in 2017-2018, because at the current price the altcoin hasn't really recovered even though the market has improved, very long time

If i have to hold coins for years, i would hold BTC ofcourse because it's the top of the crypto and if the crypto are rising again, i'm sure the one that will be rised is bitcoin then followed by other coins. 80% bitcoin and the rest are the top 10 of alts
Holding bitcoin for several years is really a good idea but I still feel it is risky at this point because the market has had too many problems in recent years, too much risk has arisen, and that makes me unable to feel secure when holding any altcoin for several years, this time is too long and many things can change in different directions, instead of holding for a few years, I like to hold for a few weeks to a few months, profits may be small but I can manage risks and losses.
