I’d hope they’d use their own platform for making a digital currency.

Ethereum and eos mean that with every transaction you have to pay a fee. I don’t even think we have that now... no one posts receipts of shares and charges the shareholder?

For now Ethereum will be the best choice for most of them. some might consider switching to their own blockchain in near future just as EOS and other ICO projects did. Most companies are preparing for the take over by STO's  the likes of coinbase already has a licence to trade security also AirdropAlert and Bountyhive are using the Civic secure identity app to verify participants accounts to meet the requirements for participation in security campaigns so no worries when the time is right you'll known how to invest.

I do not see much difference what platform companies use to switch to blockchain technology and smart contracts. If you are not a developer, it does not matter whether it is Ethereum, waves, Stratis or neo, you will still have to pay minimal fees for transactions.
How can i invest in this industry ?
If you want to invest, I see no problem to invest today in the same projects with their own platforms. (neo, waves, EOS, Ethereum) - they all sank from their highs today by at least 90% and the growth potential is huge!

Imo in most of the cases companies will be using some ready solution and it's hard to know which one will be.
The situation is pretty much evolving all the time for all those platform offering smart contracts and that i know of for example, Ethereum is planning significant infrastructural changes the next year.

And I hope tokens wont be tied with any other crypto as whales can make insane price swings and that manipulate the market. Recently ETH price dropped like a stone forcing lots of projects and ICOs to capitulate. And now what - devs will wait until some crazy early adopters pump it back to at least reasonable price? In another hand thats the beautify of crypto space Smiley
