Because there was a lot of bad news about ico related to the regulations. this was creating a lot of impact to the ethereum especially those people are seeing that these regulations will give limitation to the icos itself. Remember a lot of icos are liquidating their ethereum.

It is happening due to the Bitcoin dump, because everything depends on Bitcoin at the moment. Hope whales are kicking out investors to launch the next pump with Ethereum 2.0 update. Hold and wait for some months.

ETH like most all other coins have been on a downward spiral due to the prevalent market conditions. But ETH has been really hit because a lot ICOs performed poorly this year, scam ICOs also had an adverse effect on it as a lot of them dumped the ETH they generated during their token sales on the exchanges.

  The market is very volatile..it has crazy movement. it is unpredictable, base on the market preview as posted. the entire crypto market had experienced a very strong storm, a huge volume of investment was wipe out on the 24hrs.period. the market bleed..but it is not the end of it. yes. a massive sell off on the market had contributed to bring down the price value of almost ALT coin and Crypto to a very lowest level. Still i am optimistic that the market will rebound after the drops.

I think this is not only because the market is declining but there are things like many ICO scams that exchange large amounts of ETH, but I don't know, I personally currently invest my money in ETH

It is not just ethereum who is kissing the floor but also most altcoin did already. It was the hype and dump effect from the bull run last year so this is nothing new in cryptocurrency. If bitcoin price declines, so as ethereum and other altcoins. There could be a possibility that the reason why ethereum price was being dumped is for those whales to grab it at a lower price and a preparation for its hard fork by January. That will be an extra and free cash when Ethereum holders be rewarded to 1:1 holdings and that could also become a reason for ethereum's bull run before the year ends or before that hard fork.

there are strong enough reasons that make eth's prices to be quite low, one of which is the number of ICOs that fail and end up selling all eth to compensate investors, and some great fraudsters who brutally throw their eth, but I'm sure the price will all come back after all this riots have ended

Well its not only ethereum kissed it but the whole cryptocurrencies has tasted that. Also ETHs big drawback in my opinion was the ICO projects which created a bad impact on the coin. Apart from this there are no signs of possible bull run this year too is a disappointment.

When btc is goiing up, ETH is going down. When BTC is going down, ETH is going double down. I do not understand this.

I don't think anyone knows the main reason ethereum plunged into the abyss, but one thing to know is that this is one of the properties of cryptocurrency that can't be guessed. Right now the right hope is to wait for the bull run to come quickly to pick up, so that the atmosphere returns to green.Thank you.

Ethereum has fallen by around 13% in a week and gained around 0.53% in the last 24 hours. It is down by around 93% since its all-time high rate, with respect to 17-month-low.

Reasons could be
1. 80,000 ETH were transferred to the Kraken Exchange in two different transactions which might be the holdings of an Initial Coin Offering(ICO) and is wanting to sell for avoiding losses as the price is likely to fall even further down to $60 according to some of the crypto market analysts.

2. Many traders claiming that projects have begun to liquidate their war chests, that are often full of Ether, into fiat, leading to the current collapse of the market, not only ETH.

Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) could see the coin move to a Proof-of-Stake consensus. So, while the impact of ICO selling could persist throughout this bear market when eventually the “panic” would cease. If developments continue and the updates are successfully rolled out, institutional and retail demand from Ethereum could pick up again.

Obviously all of crypto rught now are kissink floor, not only ethereum, we all should be patien and just wait for bull time, it can begin anytime, probably price of eth can fall inder 50 before bump imho.

Just a brutal bear market. Plus those who did ICO's are also selling eth they got as their holdings relative to USD is shrinking.
If eth goes lower, do does their funding from ICO.
It's just a cycle.

Maybe this is just a cycle of life for ethereum. Yes it has been a bad timing for ethereum but when we look at it at the brighter side, we can see that it would be a good time to buy eth rather than saying it's going to die.

Yeah it's true Ethereum's just in the same cycle as everyone else. Bitcoin of course the major factor, proving that the entire crypto market lives and dies by the destiny of Bitcoin. But can't ignore that the crazy dump started just about the time Vitalik himself sort of said Ethereum wasn't working out how it's supposed to.

And now with the latest hard fork delayed do Jan, and lower block rewards and forced hard forks with the bomb every few months (six months?), so much confidence going away. It'll recover. Not sure if ever to ATH but it'll be fine.

The etherium falls because the buyer does not appear on the market ready to buy it at the current price. This is due to the general mood in the market, which means the market is expected to be even lower.
