The upcoming Constantinople hard fork encompassses five separate Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) in order to soften the transition from proof-of-work (PoW) to more energy efficient proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus algorithm.

that sentence was explaining a lot about what will be happening with ethereum at the middle of january. The transition system of ethereum will have started ASAP and block reward will have reduced.

The Ethereum still doesn't have any big update about the increasing price. It is in that low rate. However, ETH still has the big update news again and again. It still becomes one of the hottest news that we always follow. In fact, ETH influences how the other coins. SO, it means that the decrease of ETH really gives the big influence on the others. Hopefully, there will be better update for tomorrow.

It is very nice since I have invested a lot on Ethereum because I see it as so cheap right now and I couldn't imagine if it would come back to it's peak and $1,000 levels.

The January 16, 2019 will be the earliest date for the ethereum blockchain upgrade called Constantinopole. It is obe of the three important upgrades. Ethereum is epected to rise again as soon as the upgrade is launched.

It was very good and fun for me, but the etherium 2.0 that was discussed did not have a direct impact on the ETH price because the price of BTC dropped so deeply.

That won't happen anytime soon. Reaching $300/$400 alone is still very difficult.

I agree, there are still lots of ICO dumpers out there so I guess ETH will be having a hard time to recover.  This new update may probably ease the  market, a possible  hype and some pump will  occur but I do not think that the update is strong enough to bring ETH to its  ATH.

Now we have falling market and I don't think that Ethereum will be able to go against general falling trend. BTC is the most strong driver of the market. And I think that ETH will going down till BTC  going up.

I think this is rather difficult, because many Ethereum enthusiasts switch to choosing XRP. and XRP will also maintain its position.
