Tron founder Justin Sun has thrown a jab at Ethereum and EOS, announcing on Twitter that the company wishes to create a fund to “rescue” dApp developers working on both platforms on the condition that they move their dApps to the Tron network.

"#TRON will build a fund to rescue #ETH and #EOS developers from the collapse of their platform as long as those developers migrate their dapps to #TRON. #TRX $TRX" - @justinsuntron | https://twitter.com/justinsuntron/status/1070939347241889794

Driven by Sun’s penchant for successful self-promotion as well as the company’s successful acquisition strategy which saw it complete the takeover of BitTorrent in July, Tron claims that it has made significant progress toward its goal of building out the infrastructure for a thoroughly decentralized internet.

However, Sun was involved in a recent spot of controversy over his aggressive self-promotion after he hinted at a partnership with Chinese internet giant Baidu, only for it to emerge shortly thereafter that it was nothing more than a cloud computing services agreement. He also recently announced NBA legend Kobe Bryant as a speaker at Tron’s upcoming 2019 crypto conference.

The market, by and large, has rewarded Sun’s operational strategy, leading to Tron’s relatively favorable performance in an asset category suffering something of a meltdown. Ethereum and EOS, by comparison, are suffering significant losses, with EOS, in particular, performing poorly because of investor concerns over the longevity of its blockchain network.

In November, CCN reported that a research report by blockchain research and testing company Whiteblock stated that EOS is not really a blockchain network, but is, in fact, a “distributed homogenous database” suffering from significant security failings and lower-than-advertised network performance.

Ethereum is also suffering from the effects of the prolonged bear market, with co-founder Joseph Lubin recently announcing that his Ethereum development startup ConsenSys is kicking off a period of restructuring to eliminate underperforming projects and focus on projects that can create tangible value.

While no staff layoffs have been announced as part of the belt-tightening measures, it was revealed that henceforth all ConsenSys-backed projects would be ranked based on three criteria which, in order of importance, are: revenue or return on investment, positive impact on the Ethereum ecosystem, and social good.

It will be recalled that prior to current market conditions, Tron and Ethereum had historically been at loggerheads, with Sun having engaged in a public Twitter spat with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin over allegations that Tron plagiarised parts of its whitepaper from previous whitepapers by IPFS and Filecoin.

this doesn't sound like a great news for ETH which has already taken major hit from investors and holders alike. Perhaps it is sort of self promotion which may lead to nothing but if they start leaving it will really damage ETH in big ways.

Whatever they want and we have known tron shills are anywhere. They are totally joking the result of dapp will depend on the developers itself. They have no clue about what they are talking about and it seems like they like to create another joke time to the time.

Looks like tron is the true competitor of ethereum & we can say it from latest jibe taken by one of contributers of ethereum blockchain, cornol professor about Tron is not operating system and later vitalic also followed him. You can read this article for more information. https://ambcrypto.com/tron-is-no-operating-system-says-cornell-professor-ethereum-eths-vitalik-buterin-contributes/

There are many competitors to ethereum but tron appears to be the strongest. It may not be as technically advanced as EOS or even Cardano, but that does not make a platform great. It is about popularity and tron is the only one that can topple ethereum in that area

I would agree to you in a sense the Tron didn't suffer that much in the bear market as compared to its competitors like ETH and EOS. But to rescue? Nah, I think he just wanted to take over the competitions that's why he is making a sales pitch here, but I'm sure no one will bite on his offer, "thanks, but no thanks".

Nothing new, he has to make some noise to make his coin move up again. It's an exposure for him and to his project after all of those times when he used to have partnerships. I think this is the new strategy that he come up with.

Such competitions will make claims that Sun wants to 'rescue' dapp developers. He's good in marketing and to be honest, I'm impress on how he sold TRX few years ago with those partnerships.

Sun is a very smart business man. I'm sure Tron will keep increasing in value as other coins/token drop. Over time he will have all the top DAP's on his network. This is just the beginning.

Sounds like old news,,, but actually I have been hearing a lot about this recently, especially in some of the old discord channels where developers are now thinking of where to move their Dapp project to. Ethereum was the great choice initially, and it could be that people will still decide to stay now that POS is coming along, but if guys like TRON keep making themselves look great, you never know. EOS, I do not think so though. Scammy and too centralized.

Justin Sun is emerging as a media-savvy and attention-getting cryptocurrency personality. He seems to know what he is doing, he is professional enough in using to his advantage the social media and he is getting the eyes of the mainstream media. He is doing all of this to promote TRON. I am sensing that there can be a good rivalry between Justin and Vitalik...and that can be an exciting to watch. Bitcoin has no figure head unlike TRON and Eth. I am getting excited to watch the two young men do everything they can to promote the long-term viability of their respective platforms. Who will win the bigger share of users remains to be seen.
