My account is locked after I change the password because I forgot my password.

My account is locked after I change the password because I forgot my password.
I think if you click on the "forgot password" button when trying to login,you will be asked to put your email(the email you used in opening the account)
Then I think you'll get a link on how to reset your password,and put a new one

I think you tried to recover password by secrete question that's why locked account. If you tried to recover by email it should not locked. You should received recovery mail from forum. Did you check your spam folder if you tried to recover by email ?

I can see password has been changed on your trust wall. Now you should prove your ownership that's your account. It would be helpful if you can sign a message from your ETH address which is used before. But your post should not edited.

My account is locked after I change the password because I forgot my password.
I think if you click on the "forgot password" button when trying to login,you will be asked to put your email(the email you used in opening the account)
Then I think you'll get a link on how to reset your password,and put a new one

yes you are right, but I checked the secret question.
Successful passwords are changed and accounts are locked

The bitcoin address that I use is the address of Exchange indodax and cannot be sign message.
I only have an ETH address in my account and I have done a sign message.
just waiting for PM theymos, because hilariousco can't open a locked account.

What ever it is the forum is not to blame because you would have received a recovery mail on the email so see how you can access it

this is my account and I have all access including email. I just forgot the password and wanted to reset it, but my error was due to checking the secret question
and the password was successfully changed, but after that my account was locked, because of security reasons.

1. yes, I reset the password with the Secret Question, accidentally and I think it's fine.

2. I changed the 2x password because I forgot the password I changed on December 13, 2018.

3. For the BTC address that I posted, it only follows Airdrop, but the BTC address that I use is Indodax BTC Exchange address and cannot sign message.


I have contacted theymos, and waited for his response.
I use the account for Indonesian translators.
it's really my account and I built it from the start.
that's the only account I have, since I made it in 2016

I sent a message to the email that was printed when the account was locked and the bitcointalk recovery team responded well.

Is this new? Never seen this before.

People always had to PM a Global Moderator or Admin with the signed message and wait a ton of time until they see it.

Edit: ok, it's really something new. This probably has something to do with it.
As an extra protection against any possible social engineering attacks, whenever* the administration changes an account's email address from its current value, the following process occurs:
 - The change is queued.
 - It is listed in seclog.php.
 - The old email receives a warning.
 - After 7 days, the change goes through and another seclog.php entry is added.

The account stays locked throughout all of this.

Hopefully it will be essentially unheard of, but if an account is going to be incorrectly transferred, everyone who knows about the incorrect change should noisily post all of the evidence they have so that we can at least put the change on hold and re-review the evidence.

* Admins can act outside of procedure and bypass the queue if necessary, but hardly ever will.

congrats, it seems you've managed to get your account unlocked successfully
though I'm curious who (which admin) is Cryptios? and did theymos or admin manually unlock your account?
because it hasn't been 7 days but you can already access your account and made a few posts
