I was thinking the same thing about Hawaii's ties to gambling...hmmm...
The one decent BTC sports gambling site I saw thats currently up and running has a monthly membership fee... There's got to be better ways to incorporate coin gambling into sports, and there's still a lotta room for new business.
Maybe we can incorporate some Counterparty or NXT-like system where you can place wagers on football games (and women's volleyball, why not) in a decentralized fashion.. Generation of tokens that are cashable in HawaiiCoin. But then you also have to teach everybody how to use Counterparty... Unless you can streamline it all through a snappy website, which I think is possible.
Then there's the whole legality issue. While the feds have been taking a lax stance towards internet gambling in general recently, there stands a chance that wagering on college football with Hawaiicoins will be considered real gambling at some point. Its gonna be really, really tough for the legislators here (or anywhere for that matter) to nail down the specifics of the law so I don't see it as a real concern for a couple years at least.
I also heard HawaiiCoin got a shout out on the radio the other day, during a segment when the DJs were talking about cryptocurrencies for some reason. Big ups!
PS -- hope the fix is going well!!
