I think this is a good time to invest in all coins, because the price of all coins is down, but this could be worse.
maybe this will still be worse.
many say the price of bitcoin and altcoin will still fall again.

maybe you can see from the chart created in coinmarketc how is the VeChain price movement, I see the price of vechain once reached a price of $0.0194 and now the price collapses to the price of $0.003442, so maybe you can open an order at $0.003.

How much was circulating back then? $8.46 x Circulating = MC. If you use today's circulating and multiply it by $0,0846 you get $4,691,470,564. No idea if it's even close to the truth.

Where are you seeing ATH of vechain was touched $8.46? i can't even see that on the CMC and it says the ATH of vechain was around $0.015 and no more. i guess you are getting wrong information regarding the price of ATH. you should try to get the reliable information or site.

CoinGecko for example has a chart that goes back beyond the swap. CMC chart does not.

VeChain before swap really was traded for 8$ but after swap to VeChain Thor, price was automatically decreased 100 times. So we can say that ATH price after swap is 0.08$.

Vechainthor is really a good investment for long term, as per CMC its all time High value was 0.019$ and the present value is 0.004 which almost 75% to 80% down. I think it is because its one of the best altcoin that has a strong team and good partners . It is now cheap which means that it's really recommended to invest to it and wait till it reach 1 usd .

Don't wanna spread FUD and I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't believe in their good partners.
They've faked partnerships before.
The activity on their blockchain is really minimal.

Oh, and I don't hate the coin or anything, in fact I had a good 4x with it last year - turning around 0.8 bitcoins into 3.5. Fun times  but I feel like this one has its best days in the past.

I think if you want it and value it for hodl then do so but all crypto lost lots of their funds during the high wave period I was a bad day that plague everyone and i think we are starting to feel the sunlight and hopefully get a glimpse of the sunshine
