Today is 1 year since Bitcoin price reach its ATH (~$20,000)

I remember that day with nostalgia as bitcoin skyrocketed to a ATH it was incredible while some people belief that the price will continue the bullish runs unfortunately the price began to drop to the present state we are now, of course the graphical illustration or price history as shown above had already indicated the possibility of another bullish runs.

Bitcoin reached $20,000 a year ago since today. It's been quite a huge drop since then (over 80% drop since then).

I think the thinking is permanent at this standard price
It is unhealthy
I think we are at the end of the downtrend and we are on the rise
But it may be slow and not necessary to reach the same prices in 2019.

this bear market that we live today and who were already there well before years ago is only the beginning of the story repeats itself, maybe it will last longer but the bull is not dead just took a break and the more it rests, the stronger it will be for a new ATH.

How time files. Last year we are in a different atmosphere and members here are very lively and happy to see the price reaches ATH and everyone enjoy their holidays with a lot of money in their pocket.

So I guess what we can do is put 2018 aside and learned lessons from this bear market. So patience is the key here, we need more of it because we really don't know when we are going to hit ATH again.

I have read an article somewhere that claims bitcoin can reach over 30k usd ( higher  than the previous ath )  . i actually believe on it because that was said by an expert in the crypto field  but the only problem is that it can probably happen next year specifically on the middle quarter  .  

Well there is really not much to celebrate with just one year on and the price has gone way below that it's really not an encouraging sign but we still have to be patient

Yeah . there is no point of celebrating because it is not something that can make us happy .   i will only celebrate if btc will reach over a year of fix ath but i know that the chances are verry slim  .

That was a great time, everyone keep on talking about bitcoin and how they made profit by doing scalping, and some media headline news was bitcoin, it really increase the bitcoin popularity, but the consequences now is we are facing a huge correction, and seems like there won't be any huge rising like 2017 again

Late observation, I myself only saw this news today, strange how a year passes by so quickly even with non stop price declines. Now a look back on 2 years ago. We saw BTC x20 or so on the way up to ATH. Not sure which year went by quicker!

Wondering now if this sudden retrospective comparison contributed to the steep jump in prices across the board. Probably now some people expecting another wild swing in either direction. A repeat of 2018 would see sub $700...

It was one of the most glorious days of my life.
Not only the bitcoin price was high but I was also capable of selling many stuff for bitcoin those days and I had so much money.

I have managed to pay for a foreign country vacation with that money and paid it upfront and managed to live for couple months as well, think about it you make enough money to pay for a vacation for a week in Europe (which is hard for a third world country person) and also live couple months with the money you made inside a week. I really to miss those times.

Not only because the price was high but also the job opportunities were higher and there was more people here. Right now the price is low but also the interest for anything crypto related is low as well. Which really questions why I am still doing this.

    Year passed so quickly. Many things happened, and looks like we still wait many other things to come. Last year was crazy, this year is crazy, it`s how long
I`m here. What can I expect from next year other than to be crazier than ever.
    Wise decision is buying while this dip lasts. It`s what I`m doing entire year, and if dip serves me a bit more I will buy some more. I don`t suffer from this, I`m

Well for one bitcoin went into a bubble last December and what follows is a imminent crash to $3K as of the moment, a 80%-85%. You can't really find a specific answer to your question as to why the price suddenly fall because there's a lot of reasons, like FUD, government regulations and the recent Bitcoin Cash hash war that really put a significant dent on the price. As for the new all-time-high, hard to say when it's going to happen, might take months or years.

For the anniversary the price of bitcoin went up a bit. It is still not even remotely close to what it used to be but it is a good feeling to have bitcoin increasing again. I really hope we can see the 20 thousand dollars once again because the current price not only affects our economy but our community as well.

Bitcointalk was the main hub for all crypto discussions and even here there are not many new topics or not many new messages and every day the same people talk about the same topics constantly, I really hope the hype and interest of the public turns back to crypto in 2019 so we can see the increase of interest towards crypto we really need it. 20 thousand dollar days were filled with happy people here who dream about becoming really rich whereas right now there are people who do not believe the price will go up even while its going up a bit and think it will fall back.

Celebrating with new lows every week, haha, but well this market is like that, in one year we are in ATH, the other in ATL and so we go year after year reaching different goals, that's what makes it so exciting, the variety that the market has.

I somehow agree with what you said in the sense of crypto market to be up and down trend sometime cause this is the fact that some people ignore and only focus on making money rather than thinking of the possibility to down trend of the market.

I like that day when the value of the bitcoin became $20,000 and that is 1 year and we are waiting to see that again and I hope even I wait 2 months more it just okay for me. And if you notice since 1 year ago the price became like that price now increasing again and that is new hope for us.

No one can predict when it will reach new ATH but we are hoping for that. All of us are expecting new ATH for bitcoin just like what happen last year but the sad truth it will not happen in this year. Everyone who have bitcoin experience big losses but we must endure it because all we need is wait for another ATH of bitcoin.
