I'm saying this because it is real. Just imagine, Ethereum has built many tokens inside the blockchain and many people launched ICOs which most of them are totally weird and fake, but some of them are not. People usually like to trade their ethereum and turn it into a token where it can be determined as a "future asset" and it cannot be sold until they had listed on an exchange. The companies who launched the ICOs are usually selling the ethereum which gotten from their ICO in droves, in which it can make a dump on the Ethereum market.

At some point I agree, and you might hope that Ethereum should not be exist, so that there would be no market crash, ETH Blockchain is good and it has its own purpose, the main cause is that the greediness of the scammers and fraudsters to create fake ico and make lots of money.

Clever contracts are both good and bad for Ethereum. On the one hand, they give it popularity due to the large number of tokens issued on its base. On the other hand, a large number of projects put a lot of pressure on the prices of Ethereum itself due to the constant sale of ETH, gained during the ICO.

i think i disagree with your opinion,,
ethereum is not the main causes from the dump in the market my friend
i think the bears come to crypto market because of less demands in this industries
if a lot of good news coming and create more demands, i believe crypto market will be green soon Wink

Ethereum is part of the market as other coins . We have bear market conditions for a year now and that reflects in the price of ETH. Beside that, ETH has problems with scaling  as well and it further decrease it`s price.

I believe that you are wrong! Etherium is not the cause of the fall of the crypto market. The reason is completely different. In order to understand what is the reason for the beginning, you need to at least a little understand cryptocurrency. Firstly, Bitcoin paired with Tether fills the crypto market with a ball, but if you drop it too, it turns out that all of this is a fiction. Yes, yes, fiction or gamble, which turned in the futures market. All year we have been starting since the launch of futures on BTC. Etherium cannot influence the market and its price. All you see is the planned actions of the big players. And in general, it is enough to charge Etherium in everything, then he is the cause of all the troubles of the crypto market, then new altcoins kill him every time. All these attacks on ETH look ridiculous.

I agree that ICOs were a major cause of Ethereum price clash this year as a result of them changing their raised ETH to fiat but let's not forget that majority of ICOs also accepted other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin during their fund raising so those could have also affected the market.

It is not the Ethereum fault why there is a lot of token, it is the people who make an ICO for their selfish needs. And i don't think Ethereum has something to do with this bearish market because there was nothing in connection with the dump of bitcoin and other altcoins. It is in the market who has the problem that's why we are here in a bearish trend.

Why would Ethereum cause a drop in BTC?
BTC can drop Ether's price, because even today most ethers are bought with BTC, which is the coin to trade other coins with.
But I don't think Ethereum has that much power...

i agree with that also. ethereum is a known platform but it doesn't mean that it has the power to change the market, bitcoin in particular. most of the altcoins' price follows the trend of bitcoin. it's not the other way around. there are many underlying factors also but definitely, eth alone didn't cause the price drop of bitcoin.

That's the purpose of ethereum to create a platform where developers can create and develop a crypto to be able to use for services or as a product. The one we should blame is those developers who wanted to earn fast cash and scam other people by creating fake ICOs are trash coins.

I'd like to confirm your opinion and observation, this is indeed what's happening and this is the reason why Ethereum price is very low, not only eth but Bitcoin as well because majority of these ICO's also accept Bitcoin, unless some form of regulation or update so they can restrict scam ICO it will continue to happen.

Unfortunately none on your thesis is based on any facts. Most ICO's did not sell the Ethereum they raised, they stupidly hung on to it even though most of their future expenses would be paid in fiat currency. The bear market began in January when ICO's were still raising huge amounts of money. This bear market was caused by the hype of 2017 that drove prices up to unsustainable levels.

Yes basically, those ICO that is abusing the smartcontract, those are the one to be blame not Ethereum, look at the good side, Ethereum has done too much opportunity but it is in the improper use that makes the situation worse.

Not realizing that ethereum is not the only cause of low market we are affected by some other factors related to shark supply and demand altcoin purchase ...

Yes, ethereum has definitely affected the market negatively.
But it is not the only reason.

I would say, the main reason is right in front of everyone's eyes: last bull run was too high too fast and totally unstable.
In simple laws of economics, supply shot way past demand and the entire year has been collapse.

Another thing that contributed to our current state, is the stock market crashing about a month ago.
We like to think that crypto is seperate from traditional markets, but that just isn't the case.
In fact, crypto is very much integrated into traditional portfolios, especially with btc futures.

erh does affect the market but not as much as btc does.

Ethereum is not the causes of the recent downturn on the crypto market. it maybe one of the contributory factor but it is not the main causes, you may review the issues confronting the dump of crypto.. it is believe that almost all coin are over sold, high market volatility, plus the never ending issues on Regulation, Scammed, Hackers, and the low confidence level by consumers. all of this contribute to contrary belief that Crypto will go up to roof just at the end of 2017 but the market goes down affecting all coin as posted on tje market. i am not comportable of such notion as Ethereum is the cause of recent down turn on the market.

I don't think so, the crypto condition like this is not the cause of ethereum, but indeed because of the cycles that occur in crypto, before something like this happened but gradually recovered and surely this condition will be restored in the future, we must be sure to the front will improve again

The companies who launched the ICOs are usually selling the ethereum which gotten from their ICO in droves, in which it can make a dump on the Ethereum market.
So it means it only affect itself and not the whole market, you cannot stop those new projects because it is a competition in every business theres a competitors because if you dont have competitor on your business it means your business dont earn too much that's why other people dont want to compete to you.

If you are typically saying that blockchain companies that are selling their eth that they got from the ico is the reason to all of this then i can't agree with you.

Because we all know that ico's are not just accepting eth as payment, if they are going to lock in the amount that they raise, they will sell all of the crypto that they got from the ico right ? so it is not eth's fault, it simply the market cycle, crashes always occurs after the bull run. Its that simple

Yes, the abuse of ICO is the main reason. No one wants it to happen, but it is happening. Capitalists have also abandoned Ethereum. Perhaps Ethereum will become a stable currency in the future. The price of Ethereum in the past two days has not risen much because some people continue to sell Ethereum.

you exaggerate the merits of cryptocurrency projects. A dump in the market is organized by the manipulation of large players. the maximum that projects could do was to drop the price of ETH 2 times, but not 10 times
