As for me, my favorite ERC-721 token is CryptoKitties. This is because, I can breed my own kittens which live on the Ethereum blockchain virtually forever. In some cases, I get rare breeds which could become very valuable in the long term if sold for ETH.

From the old bounty campaign, the project credited me with tokens in both ERC20 and ERC-721.

All ERC-721 tokens are like that. Once you receive an ERC-721 token, it is there on the Ethereum blockchain forever.

I don´t think those kitties will be long term valuable.... they were valuable only when it was released, now the prices are just down AFAIK. There is no reason to pay a high amount of money on those kitties.

Etherscan has already supported ERC721 token and you just need to input your address and i guess all of ERC721 will appear. But you may change it into the ERC721 list. You can try to track how many contracts that has already created by using ERC721 token. it seems easy to understand.

ERC-20 tokens are like coins. All those tokens from ICO are ERC-20 tokens. You can make transactions with them, send/receive, etc. They are fungible.
Fungible means they are all the same. If I have 1 BAT token, and you have one as well, they are both worth the same value. They are interchangeable.


ERC-721 are a little different. They are non-fungible. They are not interchangeable.

For example, the OP like cryptokitties. It is an ERC 721 token. He knows each of his kitties, and each one of his kitties (or tokens) are different from each other. Some of them are more valuable than others.
Take a look at some here for example. They are all ERC 721 tokens, but they are different. Maybe the black one is worth 10 times more than the other two.

but there's another so-called type ERC721 or based name NFTs (non-fungible token). I more interest was like 0xcert and MANA, Developer project is actives in development also on media channels.

nope, it’s not a bug or change called type tokens. So the function is much different, need was briefly of all the Tokens based on ERC20-23 it’s referred as to Fungible Token But it's the exact opposit type Token ERC721 as name Non-fungible Token or NFT

This was the first time I heard about ERC-721, is this a kind of games which you are bidding some characters like kitties I don't know if I am right to my understanding about it. I just still don't get it though the price each of them was high also just like the highest one was 555$ then next 88$ and the rest are 25$ and 4$.

I personally do not like all these game based erc tokens as i think they are the primary cause of network congestion in eth network only after eth gets rid of the scalability issues, then i will look out for games and dapps.

I have heard about ERC-721 tokens, ut i have not taken my time to study what they are. All  know is that they are also ERC20 compactible .
I will just like to know more about such platform and how it works.
Cryptokitties are also familiar tokens in the crypto space, most especially during the time of ethereum network congestion.
Reading about them today, has also aroused my interest o know more.

Well, that's disappointing. At least, we get the true purpose of Non-fungible tokens for Blockchain gaming. But for them to become worth something, there needs to be demand from people within the mainstream world. Cryptokitties probably lacks demand due to the limitations of the Ethereum blockchain (in terms of speed and costs). Hopefully, with scalability upgrades, more people will become interested in playing Blockchain games, enabling virtual items to experience high demand over time.

Personally, I'm a fan of Blockchain-based gaming, but if the user base is low, it won't be going anywhere. Mainstream adoption is key here for the success of the ERC-721 concept.

Yes. That's why I believe that it was a bad idea for Ethereum to allow everything to run within a single blockchain. NEO's model on the other hand, is much more flexible as it separates smart contract execution (via its own token named GAS) from ordinary transactions in the main chain. Having everything relying on the main chain, will cause a lot of bloat. Fortunately, third party projects like Loom Network and PoA have been working on sidechains that bring greater scalability for Ethereum smart contracts. The bloat would be reduced if devs would use these sidechain projects (like Plasma Chain) for their ETH-based games.

Therefore, in the future, ERC-721 may become more practical than ever with said improvements.

Exactly. ERC-721 will become popular if many people adopt it. There are not many Blockchain-based games available which make use of Non-Fungible Tokens (like ERC-721), but as crypto becomes mainstream, more people will be using such tokens at a large scale. So far, every ERC-721 token launched on the Ethereum blockchain, has been unique and useful one way or the other. There are great games such as CryptoKitties which allow you to breed your own virtual cats. On the other hand, you can own virtual lands or property via the Decentraland platform.

The possibilities here are endless, and if developers choose ETH sidechain projects such as PoA or Loom Network, then there would be greater scalability and ease of use for anyone interacting with ERC-721 tokens. Nonetheless, I believe that the best ERC-721 tokens available (and my favorite) are CryptoKitties and Decentraland (MANA).
