It's not surprising to see Ethereum is the leader so far because it definitely has enough potential to eventually match it adoption wise but may not supersede it in the near term as the market is still dominated by Bitcoin and that won't change for a while although it's likely to have a big year in 2019

I do not see the coin that could replace bitcoin at the moment.  For a new coin to replace bitcoin,  such coin will be fully decentralized,  have better utility and have market cap beyond bitcoin!

As of now, there are no indications of another altcoin that gonna took over bitcoin. So I think bitcoin will always be number 1 and will rule the prices of other coins in a way that if it goes down, the altcoins will go down as well. I voted for bitcoin will always be the number one coin, there are several good coins out there that are worth your investment if that is what you're looking for, but when it comes to surpassing bitcoin I really do not see any coin doing it because of the huge head start that bitcoin has over all coins, bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency created by a person that has become a legend and most developers have chosen to copy bitcoin instead of going in a new direction and you can never surpass the original by being a copy of it.

Ripple is not a crypto currency. It is an database token.  Ethereum ICO hype will pass in 2019. In 2020 it will have just bad news.

Bitcoin will be always number 1, as there is no such a founder there and it was developed first. It will stay the first, as have way more interested people in that technology than others.

I think the position of Bitcoin will never be replaced by any coin, but even though that happens there are only two names that I think have the possibility, namely Ethereum or ripple.

I agree, bitcoin will not be replaced in number one, all crypto refers to current bitcoin. bitcoin is the king of crypto. for those of you who have bitcoin hold on, don't sell now because it will be a very valuable asset in the future.

I am sure, many guys here will not agree with you and start to argue. XRP has a chance to stay in the second place for some time more, but it will never become a leader. Bitcoin is the best crypto.

Ripple and Stellar, in my opinion, have enormous potential to be able to rise in price later. now the price also rises and there are also many people who know him. besides bitcoin both are good investments
