Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

IMO the fear of standard equities would only raise the price of Bitcoin, so while I'm not happy the markets have suffered, having diversification in Bitcoin makes it somewhat better.

I wish I was a professional photographer of traders with their heads in their hands. I would've made a lot of money in these last few months.

This is definitely the most fascinating phase in Bitcoin's price development. The combo of a vast crash followed by a vaster crash in the wider world is brand new territory. It could be the absolute making of BTC, or give it the kicking of the millennium. I have zero idea which way it'll go.

I dunno if our jump from $3,200 to $4,000 can be attributed to bearish tendencies on stock markets, but I doubt that there will be any long-term correlation like that. Bitcoin has its own cycles, and whatever is happening in the other markets can't outweigh them. Maybe in the early days such events could significantly influence Bitcoin's price, but today Bitcoin is pretty big already.

Of all the things above, I don't see any impact that can have an effect on the condition of the crypto market. It may indeed be that this has not been heard massively but in my opinion this effect is completely different from crypto. Or maybe those people want to move into crypto exchange

Hey this fall happened due to Feds raising the rate hike which caused panic in the share market, I was expecting further rate hikes but thought it could be lower though. Another factor which is leading the fall is the impending threat of the shutdown of the government, as of now there's no truce that's been brokered. Then there's the usual panic that if there's a government shut down then signs are not good for equities, possibilities of a recession. It'll be interesting to see if people decide to use Bitcoins as a hedge, in this scenario.

I don't think it can be 100% attributed, but I definitely do believe it had a part (even a minimal one).

The fear of an upcoming crisis doesn't prove that the crisis will come for sure.
I don't believe that a crisis is coming. This is market chaos and panic, but it's not a "great depression" type of market crisis. The market panic is caused by the USA tariff wars. This is the only obvious reason.

It's possible the stock market is more isolated than in 2008. Real estate indices and funds don't look nearly as bad. Banks are also not nearly as leveraged this time around. They hold 3-5x as much capital as before. The last crash was a perfect storm of factors that don't seem to be present this time.

Another possibility is the stock market isn't really crashing and in hindsight this will just be another multi-year correction.

An alarming stock market, will it affect the crypto market?
Learning from here maybe we can take steps to manage crypto properly. Or will they study with the crypto market and finally enter the crypto market.

This is an indication that the cryptocurrency market is a good investment as the bearish market situation is affecting the stock market too.

This theory never seems to add up. Stocks are an investment and for most people so is bitcoin. They're only aiming to grow their dollar accounts. If they're losing money in one market and withdrawing due to lack of funds then they won't move to another market, they'll move somewhere safe like bonds or just to a savings account.

when the bottom fell out on stocks last week, crypto ignored it and actually pumped. i don't think there's really a negative correlation but maybe a bear market in stocks won't be as bad as i originally thought.

i agree, i think the fear is overblown. too many people expect a financial crisis right now. when it really happens, i don't think most people will see it coming.

Usually, the small market will follow the big market. In other words, the cryptocurrency market movement will follow the stock market movement. At the moment, we should hope that no financial crisis occurs since it will negatively affect the crypto market as well.

You might find the daily chart differs 180 degrees (for both market), but for the weekly and monthly chart, usually, we could tell the bear/bull dominance.

When one stock falls its something different but when a whole stock market drops 7% all together that is really not expected. This does seem to have some bad affects for economy in the long term. I know 7% is something that could be recovered eventually but it slows the economy down enough to actually destroy couple smaller business and really just sets back the economy for years.

Obviously, this is not as bad as 2008 because back than when the crisis hit it was so big that even other countries got affected but this time its a bit different. Since FED has been strict about what they will do the money in USA has been trying to get out, when it gets out than it will start to be used and invested in other countries. Basically FED is making Americans use their money to improve other countries which is really horrible for american economy.

Its not out of place to see the stock market take a nose dive sincerely and the people who goes to through historical analysis in other to exaggerate the extent of such fall are merely hypocritical about it as its really not needed. They only succeeded in creating panic where there is none. Its a stock market and fall and rise are part of it. The following day, there could be some increase or gain, government may announce policy changes and all the losses would be recovered in hours. Its that volatile.

This may lead to the fall of the main cryptocurrency back to 3000 dollars. Although we have seen in the last week the market growth and correction from the bottom, but the opening of trading on Monday can return everything to the previous course.

The stock market does not promise stability and when it comes to volatility it not only cryptocurrency that is volatile all other commodities in the exchange ground no matter how long it experience stability there is always a time of market fall and crisis too. The U S stock is not an exception to this fact.
