Hi
I'm not at all familiar with the workings of BitCoin & moving of funds.
I tried online gambling on a small scale with 5Dimes; didn't have much luck & wanted to cash out.
They only allow BitCoin for payouts, so I went to my OLD Electrum app sitting on my Linux laptop - found a 'key' that started with
1BTn54f......  and used that address to have 5Dimes transfer my $$ to.
This transfer to the above wallet was approved 21 December before 3PM Eastern time in the USA...

NOW, I don't know what to do!
Have I screwed up or what?
My Electrum default wallet indicates Not Connected at the bottom left corner and a ZERO balance in all the Receive accounts.
WHEN should this show up in my Wallet, and how do I make the app connect to a server - and WHICH one??

My goal was to be able to transfer these funds into my PayPal account - thereby making them more convenient for me to spend...

So, WHAT do I need to do?  I'm about as lost as a duck in a snowstorm!
Thanks, and Merry Christmas Y'all...!!

You have trouble with wallet sync, probably because you have an old version and because of that you can not see updated balance. The simplest solution is to update Electrum to latest version ( be sure you have backup of your seed), just visit https://electrum.org/#home and choose file for your OS.

To transfer BTC to PP you need some service or someone who will buy coins from you and send you $, but this is some other story. Be careful if you decide on that move, never send first to untrusted service/person.

PayPal does not support CryptoCurrency. You cannot send BTC to PayPal and then spend $$$

You would need to convert your BTC to $$$ first and then transfer the $$$ to your PayPal. To do this, you're going to need to sell them on a "fiat" exchange like Coinbase that will then allow you to withdraw your funds to a bank account etc.

Alternatively, you would need to sell them using a service like LocalBitcoins that allows you to trade directly with other people... however, trying to sell Bitcoins for "PayPal" is NEVER a good idea, as the chances of being scammed is quite high as PayPal payments are reversible... Bitcoin transactions are not. So if you send bitcoins and someone deposits to your PayPal, they can then easily reverse the PayPal payment (or pay with a stolen credit card etc)... Then you end up with no btc and no PayPal! Undecided
