Italy Steps Back on Tech Innovations Amid Pro-Blockchain Rules Increasing Globally

Blockchain technology is being highly adopted in all corners of the world, but Italy seems to be running away from it. Citizens are not sure where exactly the country is heading, some think it's going back to year zero.

In Italy, there is a cul-de-sac on the lawful recognition of blockchain technology. The Italian government recently prevented all efforts attempting to recognise blockchain in the Official Gazette.

Read the details in the article of Coinidol dot com, the world blockchain news outlet: https://coinidol.com/italy-steps-back-on-tech-innovations/

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

A bit strange in this type of country, where the individual states/regions are doing their own thing and the central government acts in bewilderment. We've got still Italy falling far behind in parity economically with the rest of Western Europe, while the regions like in Naples are doing their own thing and talking about their own state-backed cryptocurrency (not that that's remotely blockchain development but still a sign of innovation).

Do what it may, but I'm not convinced citizens really care. Business as usual in the real world of Bitcoin use and trade.

Italy is full of debts and has a troubled economy run by the mafia. They would do well to embrace blockchain based currencies, they could be one of the first developed countries to use bitcoin to make amends

that is some 1980's biased view here
Italy's economy run by mafia, really? where did you get this info from, Godfather?
one of the first developed countries to use bitcoin Smiley , poor Japan and S.Korea- relegated to developing category
if you read the article, Italian government didn't step back as in said they do not need it
besides they just spent 1 bil euros on funds  to help the blockchain industry and technology-related innovations
maybe they have other more pressing matters at this moment
