ClashHash.com is a trustless betting platform that allows you to bet on a miner of specific Ethereum block. As the game runs inside Ethereum virtual machine it can safely and trustlessly determine miners of past blocks, therefore, providing fair and transparent prize distribution.
Users can bet on any block far enough in the future and if their bet wins they can claim their portion of a prize pool.
Determination of the winner
Unfortunately Ethereum virtual machine provides no easy way of determining the miner of a specific block.
Luckily it is easy enough to trustlessy provide miner's address from outside the EVM and safely check its correctness on the smart-contract.
After the block is mined anyone can trustlessly submit block header to the smart-contract.
Smart-contract, in turn, will check the integrity of the header by computing the hash of the header and comparing it to the actual block hash that is available inside the Ethereum virtual machine.
If the hash is correct then the whole header is correct and smart-contract will use the miner's address from the header to determine the winning bets.
Prize pool distribution
If none was able to correctly guess who will mine the block then all the prize pool goes over to the Jackpot pool.
If there was a bet on a miner who mined the block then all the prize pool is proportionally distributed among users who made a winning bet.
Consider an example where two users made bets on miner A and the first user made a bet of 1 ETH and the second user made a bet of 2 ETH and all the other users made bets on different miners of 6 ETH in total.
The total prize pool is 9 ETH in total and the second user contribution is twice as big as the first user.
Therefore the first user win will be 3 ETH and the second user win will be 6 ETH.
