So i haven't connected my nano ledger s to my laptop in a while. Last time when i did this, it ask me to update ledger live or something like that but i didn't do that. When i connected my nano ledger s to my laptop, and then opened ledger wallet bitcoin, i then clicked on bitcoin and segwit as i normally do. When i did this, it shows my btc and usd balance. The issue here is the usd balance is not correct. The usd value was basically the same value like last time when i connected my ledger to my laptop when the price was like 7000 or so.
I clicked on that 2 arrow next to the btc on the top right and the usd price stays the same.
Can someone tell me why i have this issue? Because back then, the total value was pretty much correct everytime when btc price chagned.

Most likely because the Chrome webapp is not being updated/monitored any more...
I suspect that the Countervalue API that it is using is outdated or possibly has been switched off... ie. the backend functionality that was retrieving exchange rates for the Chrome WebApp has been switched off, so it is showing the last (very outdated) BTC/USD exchange rate that was retrieved before it was turned off.
Update to Ledger Live... or turn the counter value setting OFF (in Settings -> Display) within the WebApp... and then manually use an external source like preev or google or <insert your favourite crypto exchange rate website here> to find the "fiat value" of your BTC.

HCP.
Can you tell me step by step how to update to ledger live? Do i have to download it directly from the website? Last time when i connected the ledger to it, it ask me to update and i did not. Now i connected the ledger s to my laptop again and i did not see this message. I have not connected my ledger s to my laptop in a few months or so before now.
I was watching a video on youtube on this and there is a part where they ask you to put in a password. So that is needed or preferred? Then in the video, it say it will ask you to connect your nano ledger s to see if its geniune or not and then unplug it. The thing is do you need to connect and unconnect when this happens before the process continues? The video wasn't exact if every detail so i don't want to make a mistake somehow.

When i download it, do i need to have my ledger s connected to my laptop and if so, does it need to have bitcoin opened where i already entered my pin as well?

Just follow the instructions in the Ledger Live app after you have downloaded and installed it... it has very simple and easy to follow instructions. To setup the app properly (so it can see you accounts), you will need your Nano S device... and you will need to unlock it when prompted. NOTE: It will probably make you do a firmware update first, if you're not already updated. |

Okay after i connected it, i made a mistake of unconnecting it. I thought it was connect it and unconnect. I then connected it again and then put in my pin. Then it seems to log in but now it shows ledger live but its blank screen?

Okay i entered password. Then everything seem to go through and there was option to do firmware update to 1.4. I did this. But when i did this, my ledger live is blank. On the nano ledger s, it shows an arrow and update right next to it. Do i just wait now?

On the nano ledger s, it showed the word update and give me option of yes or no with the left or right click button. i right clicked it. So is it updating now or not?
Because right now it shows nothing loading on the ledger live on the computer. on the nano ledger s, it shows an arrow with down button and update right next to it.
What am i suppose to do now? Do i need to click on anything? Nothign seems to be loading etc on the computer screen.

So on the ledger s, there is like an arrow that looks like a download logo on the left... right to it is the word Update on my ledger s.
On my laptop, the ledger live program app is basically all white and nothing shows there. So did the update fail? I do not know what to do now. Have the nano ledger s still connected to my laptop and not unplugging or clicking anything at the moment because i do not want to do a messup here. Last time i did a firmware update, it frozed a while back which is why i always am hesitant of doing any firmware update on the ledger.

Firstly... STOP multi posting... just edit the post and add to it. There is no need to make 4 posts in a row.  Generally, that "download" logo and update indicates that it is trying to transfer the new firmware to the ledger device. However it is has been stuck like that for a while, then it might mean that something has not quite gone right. Personally, I would disconnect the Ledger Device. Shut down Ledger Live and start from the beginning. - Open Ledger Live - Enter password - Connect your device when prompted - Unlock it - Start the Firmware update again. Not sure if this has since been fixed. |

Hey man sorry about that. This freaks me out so thats why im posting all over the place.
I did what you said and that did work. Thanks man. Now i have to install the bitcoin app right with that app catalog? Because when i click on portfolio, nothing shows up.

Okay this is another thing that confuses me. So i have to install the bitcoin app from that app catalog right? So example i could just install bitcoin, waves right now and once i do that, then its installed. But there is this option on the bottom left where it ask you to add account. I saw in video the guy would add bitcoin and then name it bitcoin 1.
So when i add bitcoin to it, do i need to do both things here? Thus click on install bitcoin. And then Click on that plus next to the add accounts to add accounts to this portfolio? Im confused why there are like 2 options here?

You have to add "accounts" within Ledger Live, so that Ledger Live knows what coins you "have", or at least, are interested in viewing in Ledger Live. NOTE: If you don't have the coin app installed on the device, you won't be able to add an account for it. You have to add the coin app on the device itself, so that the device can communicate the correct info to/from Ledger Live. Remember, the device really just holds a "seed"... ALL the coins use the same seed. The coin app on the device, is responsible for converting from the seed to the coin specific addresses etc. |

Okay so right now with bitcoin. I first click on install next to bitcoin version 1.3.1.
Then once i do that, click on accounts, add and click on bitcoin and call it bitcoin 1?
Then once i do that, click on portfolio and i could view my btc? If i don't do the 2nd part, then when i click on portfolio, there is nothing there?

So right before this, i had installed the waves from the app catalog. When i did this, the waves is available on my nano ledger s when you browse through it. But i did not do the waves client with nano ledger s connection yet.
But as of now, i don't have bitcoin when i scroll left to right. It is only waves.
So right now follow the instructions i posted right before this post?
Install bitcoin version 1.3.1. Then once i do this. Click on Accounts and click on add and put in bitcoin and continue? And what do i name it?

You are massively overcomplicating a VERY simple process... 1. Install whatever coin apps you want on the device using "Manager" within Ledger Live 2. Create "Accounts" for the coins you want to view within Ledger Live NOTE: You CANNOT add Waves to Ledger Live at this time, you need to connect your device to the waves webclient as per the instructions: https://docs.wavesplatform.com/en/waves-client/account-management/ledger-nano.htmlIt is like using MyEtherWallet... make sure Ledger Live is NOT running when you try to connect to the waves web client, as it might interfere with browser->device connection. |

Hi there. Okay i just installed bitcoin from the manager and then it synchronize. Now i see it there. Its in the accounts and portfolio.
Well i did install waves by clicking on install waves. It does show waves on the nano ledger s when i scroll through it with the left/right buttons on the ledger s...

Yes, you can install the Waves coin app to your device... but you cannot use Waves from within Ledger Live. It does not show in the list of currencies available when you got to add an account. The only way to interact with Waves using the Ledger Live is via the Waves Web or Desktop Client. Okay this is strange. Exactly... you CANNOT add an "Account" for Waves (and lots of the other altcoins) directly within Ledger Live. They need to use their own interfaces... Waves needs the Waves Web or Desktop Client. Also, seriously, learn how to use the "Edit" button |

Okay when i installed waves from coin app from manager... i actually had the waves lite client opened. I did not notice this earlier. You say you are not suppose to do that. Is there any effect this had? I had the waves lite client opened and did not know it would have any affect.
Right now i closed the waves lite client. But where is that page where i could choose to download all those apps? I cannot find this on ledger live at the moment.
