What happened: I did an arbitrage trade and was silly enough to use Yobit. I bough BTG at one exchange, sent them to Yobit and wanted to sell them there.
(1. mistake from me to trade there and not look wether the BTG-Wallet is on maintenance..) The wallet was on maintenance and I opened an official support ticket at yobit
to ask when the yobit wallet of BTG is online again.
The chat with the support worker from yobit that contacted me after I opened the support ticket is in a link below.
He said he can manually withdraw my coins with the yobicodes (2. mistake from me to send him those codes without any security. I should have stopped there and I hope this helps to prevent more damage.
He first told me to send him the BTG for the withdrawal and then he told me that I have to send him 0.1 BTC to verify myself at Yobit.. Please read the chat and you'll see that he really talked so much bullshit to get me send more coins.
If you have the same withdrawal issue please don't let yobit withdraw manually!!! They won't send you anything and always will find problems so you have to send more before you'll get your coins back..

Don't use Yobit! It's a bad exchange and there a much better opportunities. If an arbitrage deal looks to good to be true you shouldn't do it. I learned that now on the hard way.

Can someone help me here or did someone make the same experience? I hope I can find a solution for this issue and if not I hope this will help someone to not do the same mistakes I did. ::

Could you maybe upload the screenshot on a known image file host? I'm really not willing to download files from some dropbox account. Thanks.

Edit: just saw it's a pdf, which is even worse. These files allow a sophisticated attacker to take over a computer in no time. Please just use image screenshots on an image hosting service. People really shouldn't start getting used to downloading pdf files, here.

This is why arbitrage doesn't work in practice on a consistent basis with crypto, even though theoretically it will always be profitable.

Arbitrage bots that spot the opportunities simply don't take into account the risks of holding funds on an exchange, and whether the wallet is disabled or not. This is especially problematic when it comes to high risk exchanges like Yobit, which has a track record of being extremely shady as a business.

I've heard of similar scams in the past. A guy will contact you claiming to be yobit support on chat or whatnot, asking you to send them funds in order to withdraw your stuck balance. These scammers are most likely not even affiliated with yobit, but rather just opportunistic con artists that know that a lot of people have trouble with Yobit.

That said, yobit is not a safe exchange to use in my opinion. No one knows its physical locations, who its exact founders are, and their support is terrible which opens up opportunities for scammers to take advantage. It's definitely an exchange that anyone should avoid.

Yobit is considered a scam exchange by most veteran crypto users. For crying out loud they have a dice game on the front page? Would you really trust that type of exchange?

Just another scam from Russia.

Wallets on yobit are usually on maintenance, most of the altcoins. Its not good to trade altcoins there.

I don't know if it could help you posting a scam thread about them but there are several of it the exist already. One thing is for sure that will help you, just keep talking to the support also try the chat because there are always active there.

They are a certified scam exchange I don't know why people still trust this exchange when there are a lot of new exchange coming up, which is far better than Yobit, it's only a matter of time before Yobit losses traders because they are even scamming their old customers.

I just wanted to contact him again and got a smtp error with his emailaddress..
Contacted him on telegram but he isn't responding.

The weird thing was that I opened an official support ticket from yobit so just yobit workers could see this message and he
sent exactly my message and asked me wether I need help. Thats why I did send him my coins. I though if he scams me yobit scams me and I didn't think they would do such thing.

Hi Folks,

I know this may be a futile question but has anyone had any luck with recovering coins that have been stolen using this method?

Can YoBIT do a reversal of sorts?

If you have managed to retrieve your funds please could you share your steps.

Just another scam from Russia.
This Exchange also has games: investors' wallet lock and sell their tokens, when prices drop by 30-40%, your wallet will be opened. I have had it twice, and I have withdrawn all my money through another Exchange.

They would not do such a thing?? They have done it so many times already and will do it again and again as long as there are newbies and ignorant people to be victimized, Yobit is notoriously known here as a scam exchange, f you fail to see this, it's your fault then.
